Police are appealing for information after thieves broke into a pub in Bangor-on-Dee during the early hours of this morning.

The incident was reported at 12.01am today when three men were seen to break into the Buck House Hotel in High Street Bangor-on-Dee.

They made off with a safe from the premises which contained the weekend’s takings.

The police helicopter was also seen over the Bangor-on-Dee / Ruabon area shortly after midnight.

Inspector Steve Owens said: There was no confrontation with anyone during the burglary. We deployed the NPAS helicopter and a dog team to search the area.

“However, the offenders are still at large, so I am appealing to anyone with information to please call police on 101 quoting reference V024080.”
