An appeal has been made after a teenager was hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing on Friday afternoon.

Mark from 4th Planet Games on Trinity Street said: “A regular customer of mine was struck a glancing blow by a car while using a pedestrian crossing, mid-afternoon on Friday.”

A bus driver from the Arriva Oswestry bus stopped to make sure the teenager was alright.

Mark says “The car sped off without stopping. In shock, and believing himself to be ok my customer made his way to my shop.

“By the time he arrived he was in pain and we called an ambulance who took him to A&E.”

We are told unfortunately ankle damage has occurred, and a plaster cast has been applied.

The teenager’s mother left a message on our Facebook page appealing for help saying “My son was hit by a silver car on the Bradley Road crossing, the car did not stop.”

The incident occurred at 3pm on Friday afternoon.

Due to the weekend we are unable to get further details or comment from North Wales Police, however we are told they have been informed and anyone with information relating to, or witnessed the incident are encouraged to call 101.
