This Sunday the Annual Service of Remembrance will took place in Wrexham town centre this morning.

We have been tweeted a few pictures and comments from this morning:

Original story below…

The Annual Service of Remembrance will be held at the R.WF. Memorial, Bodhyfryd, Wrexham, on Sunday, 9 November at 10.55 a.m.

The Worshipful the Mayor will lay a wreath on behalf of the Council and members of the public are welcome to attend if they wish.

If attending it should be noted that barriers will be erected at 10.30 a.m. at the following locations to allow the parade to pass safely and secure the surrounding area – Chester Street (adjacent to the former Feathers Public House), Holt Street (by the Welch Fusilier Public House) and Chester Road (near the Chester Road/Powell Road roundabout). Access to Waterworld Car Park will therefore be available until 10.30 a.m.

Facilities will be available for elderly or infirm persons to follow the Service from inside the Memorial Hall, if they so wish.

A service will also take place in Holt at the Remembrance Cross at 10:55am. Refreshments will later be provided in the Kenyon Hall after the service.

Also this morning we were tweeted this note for Overton:

There will also be an Armistice Day Ceremony on Tuesday 11 November which will include a 2 minute silence at 11.00 am. Members of the Army Cadet Force, Air Training Corps, Veterans Groups will gather at Queens Square from 10.45 am. The Mayor will give an address at 10.57 followed by the Exhortation. A Bugler will sound the Last Post at 10.59 followed by the two minute silence.

The air raid siren will be heard in the town centre for the marking of the two minute silence.

The Ceremony will end with Reveille followed by The Kohima Epitaph.
