The Council is currently undertaking its annual engagement with Carers registered with Social Services.

This exercise is completed to understand how well the Council is managing to support carers in helping them support their family.

A large mail-drop was completed prior to Christmas and the Council is now processing those responses and is in the process of sending a further mail-out later this month.

All responses received prior to the 29th February will be used to update the Carers Strategy and also enable the Council to consider the current services it provides to Carers for 2016/2017.

Lead Member for Health and Adult Social Care, Cllr Joan Lowe, said: “Carers play a hugely important role in the care of family members and I would encourage as many as possible to take part in the survey so we can understand what support they will need in the future and how we can provide that support.”

The Council’s new email update system and its Social media channels will be used to enable staff to directly engage with people who have signed up for information on Social Services and to try and reach out to more Carers who may not be registered with and who may be able to help.

Later in January the Council will also be launching an electronic version of the annual survey document to make it easier for people to respond and provide their views and feedback on services.

If you would like to talk to someone about the services that are available please contact Wrexham 290666.

Those who are no longer Carers are also invited to get in touch to allow the council to update its records.
