A483 Wrexham bypass & railway line reopens after hour long full closure
Update: The A483 has reopened both ways, and the Wrexham to Chester railway line has reopened, after being fully closed for just over an hour this evening as police responded to concerns over the safety of a person.
Police have said: “The incident on the A483 at Stansty Wrexham has been safely resolved. Road now open, thank you for your patience.”
Later they added: “NWP would like to thank motorists for their patience this evening due to the closure of the A483 at Pandy, Wrexham.
“It was essential both for their safety and that of a distressed male who has now been taken to hospital to be checked over.
“The road is now open in both directions and the officers involved have also been thanked for their professionalism.”
Original information below…
The A483 is closed off both directions between the B&Q Roundabout and Gresford Roundabout this evening.
Slip road access is also blocked for those looking to leave and join the road.
We are told police are responding with concerns to the safety of an individual from just before 8pm.
Update: North Wales Police have said at 8:17pm “A483 currently closed in both directions at Stansty bridge, Wrexham, as officers are currently dealing with an on going incident. Please avoid the area if possible and use alternative routes. Thank you.”
The Stansty Chain Road is also closed off, with Phill sending us the above image of the road closure by Plas Coch School.
It is not confirmed if it is related, however Arriva Trains Wales have said “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway between Wrexham General and Chester lines are closed.”
“Train services through these stations may be subject to disruption on all routes. Disruption is expected until 22:00”
