Overturned Trailer Causes Traffic Chaos Around Wrexham

A vehicle overturned on the southbound A483 Wrexham bypass just before the B&Q roundabout closing it for around three hours.

Update: The road has now reopened, we are told two people were involved in the incident but thankfully were unhurt.

Original story below:
We have been told that two vehicles were involved, possibly a 4×4 and a lorry, with a car and trailer on its side across the road.

Kevin sent us the above picture of the incident.

Emergency services are at the scene, and traffic is backing up past the Gresford turn off, which had the slip road closed to traffic.

Traffic is now being diverted, causing queues through Pandy are building up to the Llay New Road junction. Many motorists are giving up sitting in the queues and are turning round – causing additional problems to the traffic.

A Wrexham.com reader has just sent us this picture of the traffic jam from the road bridge by Pandy, with Tim telling us on twitter Police have close the Gresford roundabout slip road.

Paramedics are at the scene, however there is no update on the driver of the vehicle.

We popped by just after 6pm and this was the tailback looking towards Gresford, with the sliproads now closed off:

North Wales Police have said at 5:39pm “Lorry on its’ side. Both lanes blocked. Extensive delays. Officers on scene now.”

Earlier this afternoon the same stretch of road was closed off due to concerns over a mans safety.
