Police have said they have arrested someone in connection with the serious hit and run incident in town on Wednesday evening.

Police had issued an appeal earlier today to identify the driver of the above car that was hidden in a field after the incident. A male pedestrian sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital in Stoke for treatment.

Police said this afternoon that one person is in custody in relation to the incident. The individual is a 27 year old man, detained for ‘falling to stop at a serious injury RTC’.

North Wales Police say “Enquiries are on going, and the detainee will be interviewed in due course.”

They added that any witnesses or information on the incident are urged to make contact with police by calling 101 quoting reference V176866
