25 new jobs in Wrexham have been created due to the opening of a revamped restaurant in a Wrexham supermarket.

‘Decks’ has opened in Tesco Extra on Crescent Road last Friday; with the Wrexham store among the first Tesco stores across the country to have the new range rolled out.

The opening of the new look restaurant comes as part of Tesco Wrexham’s recent refurbishment. Decks in Wrexham is the 12th to open nationwide and follows another North West launch (in Bidston Moss, near Birkenhead) back in June.

Decks Wrexham general manager, Nick Pedersen, said: “Decks Wrexham celebrates the best of British cooking and embodies the simplicity, warmth and authenticity of it. It seeks to satisfy our renewed interest in our own produce as well as the rejuvenation of quintessentially British eating customs – specifically the full cooked breakfast, the Sunday roast and tea for two.

“We don’t scrimp on portions or ingredients; there’s plenty of it and plenty of choice too – something for everyone. The new team at Decks Wrexham is the best too. We like what we do, we’re interested in our customers and we’re keen to satisfy them. We’re passionate and knowledgeable about the food we serve – and this means we’re enthusiastic about sharing it with others.”

Earlier this week a representative from Wrexham’s Tesco store commented on the number of people who park in the supermarket car park and head into the town centre to to do their shopping.

The Forum was told that due to the number of non Tesco shoppers using the car park the ‘Automatic Number Plate Recognition’ cameras have been turned back on to prevent people from using the free three hours parking.
