A man has been sentenced to 21 weeks in custody after a car careered around several Wrexham streets causing damage on Tuesday afternoon.

As we reported yesterday, a nearby resident told us about what happened: “The car turned out of Erddig Road into path of another car driven by woman, with a child in car seat.

“The car drove off, mounting the pavement. It smashed into wall further up Fairy Road causing major damage.”

The incident carried on up Court Road and Belmont Road.

Marcin Kowalski, aged 40 from Jubilee Road in Wrexham, appeared in front of Wrexham Magistrates yesterday.

Offences included driving with excess alcohol, failing to stop after an accident, having no insurance and driving whilst disqualified.

Mr Kowalski was sentenced to 21 weeks in custody.
