All of the staff at Ty Mawr Country Park would like to say a huge thank you and well done to all the volunteers, friends of the park and junior rangers who helped with lambing this year.

They say “The community really pulled together and the park had over 20 helpers on a lamb watch rota. They came to check for signs of lambing at 6 am, 7 and 10pm and thanks to their efforts the lambs were delivered safely.”

Volunteers aged 8 – 70 spent over 90 hours watching sheep and none fell asleep doing it!

The park now has an extra 19 very special lambs. 6 boys and 13 girls who were named after stars and planets including Orion and Venus.

Visitors are welcome to go and see the lambs, but please keep dogs on leads when near them.

The sheep and all other animals at Ty Mawr are available to sponsor and the Park is always looking for new friends. If you are interested in either opportunity please call into the visitor centre or telephone 01978 822 780 for further details. All help no matter how large or small is welcome at the park.
