Just after midnight Jon Lloyd-Jones got in touch to say “There has just been an accident on the A541 heading towards Summerhill. Police have blocked off the road near the B&Q roundabout.”

It was reported initially that a 17 year old male was in a ‘serious condition’ after being hit by a vehicle on Mold Rd in Gwersyllt, and was taken to the Maelor with head and multiple injuries. The collision occurred with a white Volkswagen Polo, outside the park entrance at 00:37.

Early this afternoon we received the following sad news:

In a separate unrelated incident Andy Roberts told us he was driving in Summerhill 4.30am and “found a young woman face down on the pavement in her pyjamas totally comatose”.

He said an ambulance took her in “It was 2 deg C. I think she may have died if she was there much longer”.
