Christmas is fast approaching and as usual Wrexham has a jam packed schedule of festive treats for people of all ages to enjoy!
November 17 saw the start of the festive season in the town centre, with the Wrexham Glyndwr Rotary Club kicking off the celebrations with a spectacular evening of entertainment for the Christmas Light Switch on.
Over 7,000 people braved the cold weather to gather in the town centre to watch live performances from local school choirs, Rhos Male Voice Choir and of course the cast of the Stiwt’s Cinderella – who had the honour of turning on the lights.
The evening culminated in a breathtaking firework display as the lights in Queen’s Square were switched on.
December will also see the return of one of Wrexham’s biggest annual events, with the traditional Victorian Market offering a day of festivities cheer.
Taking place between midday and 8pm at St Giles Church and the High Street, Wrexham’s Victorian Market will bring together more than 75 stalls selling everything from gifts, traditional food, crafts and much more! There’s also some mulled wine on hand for those who fancy a Christmas tipple!
Take a trip to the market in the evening for a truly festive experience – with St Giles being transformed into a winter wonderland, illuminated by Christmas lights.
Entrance to the Victorian Market is free – so be sure to pop down to pick up some unique Christmas goodies!
Those visiting Wrexham throughout December will also receive a Christmas present from Wrexham Council – who have announced that it will be free to park in ALL Council owned car parks throughout the month.
Across the County Borough there are plenty of amazing events taking place in the run-up to Christmas, details of which can be found in Wrexham Council’s Christmas Guide 2016.
The booklets can be picked up for FREE from many shops across Wrexham. Copies are also available in the Guildhall.
