Wrexham Ambulances

It is reassuring that Wrexham ambulances had the best response times in Wales last year. They responded within 8 minutes to 72% of calls, and were the top county in Wales. Rhondda Cynon Taf in contrast only achieved the 8 minute target in 43.5% of cases.

So they do respond then? My wife rang 999 for me week before last at 3am as I'd collapsed in pain and couldn't walk. Operator asked questions and said a nurse would ring back. After 5mins my wife rang 999 again to be told they would hurry the nurse up. Nurse rang after another few minutes, she asked a few questions before telling my wife to get me to hospital as it would be quicker than waiting for the ambulance. I had to crawl to the car with my wife,5+7yr old daughters helping. Got me to hospital where the drs couldn't believe an ambulance wasn't sent.
So that's how they keep their figures up only send ambulances to every other call!!

I suppose technically then they do respond under 8 minutes.

If they're dispatched.
