Heard today that Staples in Wrexham will probably close at the end of January 2013.
Its always sad to see a shop close. This will be hard on the employees as its so soon after Christmas.
On a positive note, if staples customers were to shop with me, inkxperts, a local company, maybe I could increase my staff levels then employ some experienced Staples staff member?

I really like that slogan. Inkxperts may well get my business. I'm sorry that Staples is closing however, as they do have a good service with photocopying & printing etc. plus a lot of choice. I expect Tesco's take a lot of business off them.

Most of Staples' business comes from online orders. Even with a shop in town no business is going to pay its employees to go and buy things from Staples itself when it can be bought online and arrive the next day in much larger amounts.

Is this another unfounded rumour like the one that Debenhams is also closing at the end of January. Or does anyone have any actual evidence that either of these major stores is actually shutting down?

Seems its due to poor performance of American operations and downscaling Euro operations as a result.
