Students will appreciate the idea of a fast track degree, especially now that tuition fees are so high. There is also the added advantage of entering the jobs market a full six months ahead of your rivals. It is good to see Glyndwr leading the way where others are sure to follow.

Who's going to really benefit from fast tracking? Students getting a 'fast forward' education or the university which will gain additional income by speeding up the assembly line? If a university education was merely about absorbing facts then may be the speedy degree would be worthwhile, but it's not. If you think three years is too long to be a student, you are probably wasting your own and your academics' time in going at all. Most students abroad spend far more time studying than we do here.

Both the students and the uni will benefit. Students are no going to uni as three years of paying fees is often too much so reducing the term is more attractive. This will result in increased enrolments and income for the uni and local area.
