Default Recycling Week

The people of Wrexham seem to have embraced recycling, the Household Recycling site on the Wrexham Industrial Estate have something like 80% of rubbish recycled. What is really annoying is the way supermarkets over wrap food, in particular fruit and vegetables, creating instant waste!

Surprised to read that some parts of the County Borough still only have the one black dustbin. Are they still "rolling out" recycling in some areas?

I wonder why the emphasis is on the residents to recycle? We have boxes and bags to separate all our waste, which I assume most of us actually do, yet shops and businesses don't seem to have the same rules and regulations. Why are they not separating their waste and recycling more? Maybe supermarkets do over package, but they shove everything into one bin as well. They should be doing their bit.

I used to work in a local supermarket and the only waste that went separate was food, because they used to sell it to farmers for pig food.
