Default Welsh Ambulance Trust

There are major problems with ambulances having to wait outside A&E across England and Wales and the lack of enough staff in A&E is the issue that needs addressing. What are they going to do about in Wales? Rename the Welsh Ambulance Trust and waste money on rebranding! That money spent wisely on extra staffing/beds would help the root of the problem which would have a knock on effect for the ambulances!! The simple answers are often the best, give common sense a chance!

I thought this forum was all about Wrexham and surrounding area. That aside, the arm chair wannabe economists who seem to think they have a simple solution to every problem under the sun that is posted on this site, may be advised to take note of the following quote :-
"Too bad that all the people who really know how to run the Country are busy driving taxis or cutting hair" - George Burns.

Oh, if only it were that simple - why employ consultants or people that are highly qualified in their field? Perhaps everything could be sorted on Wrexham.com at little or no cost.

Simple!

Is George Burns from Wrexham? Was he referring to Wrexham?

"A Chief Ambulance Services Commissioner post would also be created, with the job of advising local health boards about ambulance services."

Another administrator, another salary !

Fred Pring: delayed ambulance medics could have saved man's life, expert claims - Daily Post

This could have been anyone of us , in desperate need of an ambulance , but none available because they are waiting outside A&E!

Jill Flemming of Welsh Ambulance talking to the inquest this morning said an ambulance should have arrived within 8 minutes of the first phone call but NONE were available!! This has just been mentioned on Radio Five Live. The Welsh Assembly hold the money and power here , time our AM's sorted out the basics and stopped pursuing vanity projects like putting live Council meetings on the Internet at a cost of over 800,000.

This thread is very much about Wrexham and surrounding area, as one of the ambulances attending was held up at Wrexham A&E for a considerable length of time, and the unfortunate patient was from Mynydd Isa which can be considered to in our surrounding area. As previously stated this could be any one of us, and rightly gives us cause for concern.

I do not have any solutions, but easier access to GP Services is essential if pressure is to be reduced on A&E Departments.

This is a problem that affects us all. Firstly we are all responsible for only using 999 and A&E in a real emergency, that said , those with responsibility for organising the Welsh Ambulances must work with the hospitals to keep a minimum number of ambulances available for call out. How often and for how long does this situation arise? Questions need to be answered and solutions found before any more lives are lost!

Posts in these forums have narrated the growing problems in health for some time. When we have a problem or failing in work, we act on it that day, and focus on it until the problem is solved. We don't want to listen to political and systematic rhetoric, we all want this problem solved today. Support the teams in A&E to manage the capacity needed, and get ambulances back on the road.

Maybe I am another lone voice in the opinion of some; but writing on this blog and every other forum, paper or pub ...our voice must be heard. We do not want to hear about another death that could have been prevented!

Some good news at least is that the Ambulance service will be getting a new depot to be shared with the fire Brigade on Croesnewydd Road, where the illegal gypsy camp used to be. This should allow for much better links with the A483 for the entire area to see quicker response times.
