What is wrong with not wanting extensive housing estates, prisons, pig farms or otherwise in your back yard? There is a programme on TV about neighbours from hell. I wouldn’t want them either.

Why do I get the feeling that Haywards field & the other development are interlinked? Is it an either/or situation?

Do the Ruthin Road & Mold Road sites impact on village life? Just asking.

At what cost. There are plenty of green fields in Cheshire & good schools. These houses won’t benefit Wrexham economy. If someone were to build 20 or so houses for local people it would barely be worth a mention but the sheer size of this proposed construction is ridiculous. If ‘Joe Public’ were to apply to build one house on the outside edge of a village, planning consent would be turned down immediately. The size of this project is pure greed.

Miners weren’t the original residents of Llay. It was a hamlet before the model village was built. However the colliery houses were built for a purpose, to give both the miners & management somewhere to live close to their work. They spent their money in Llay & paid money out of their wages for the Miners Welfare. Welfare Institutes in turn were used for educational purposes which allowed miners & their families to better themselves. How many, I wonder, of the new development would do likewise.

It is all a load of twaddle. It hasn’t held my young family members back, apart from on rare occasions, spelling. Statistics say what you want to hear. The attached link is from only two years ago. BBC News – Bilingual children 'better at problem-solving skills'

Are the good folks of Llay queueing up to buy these houses or are they needed for commuters?

I note that the Nant y Gaer development has been put on hold.

You don’t know what you are missing Ferret. Seriously though. I grew up in a beautiful village many years ago (not in Wales) that was many miles away from the city. The green belt has all been built on & now my old home is possibly no more than 3 miles away from edge of the city. I hate the thought of living in a concrete jungle.

Have you no sense of humour Benjamin? Perhaps I should have added a smiley face (if I knew how to of course)
