The agent of anthrax is a bacterium called Bacillus anthracis. While other investigators discovered the anthrax bacillus, it was a German physician and scientist, Dr. Robert Koch, who proved that the anthrax bacterium was the cause of a disease that affected farm animals in his community. Under the microscope, the bacteria look like large rods. However, in the soil, where they live, anthrax organisms exist in a dormant form called spores. These spores are very hardy and difficult to destroy. The spores have been known to survive in the soil for as long as 48 years.

I quite understand that some Llay people may work in Chester but I suspect that most people who would live in these new homes will be from over the border. Houses aren’t as expensive in Llay as they are in Chester. They will spend their money in Chester, Broughton etc and not in the locality. How long will it be before it will become Llay near Chester just like a lot of other places?

I am not from Llay and yes I would object if they tried to do the same to Gresford or Rossett. I know that I speak from the heart which is no use to anyone. We have to make a stand & fight for common sense or we might just as well roll over and let the powers that be walk all over us. Lots of research is needed. Stick to facts and ask people who stood up to be counted for Rhosrobin & Brymbo for advice on what they found out about planning consents. Make no mistake, this development is for commuters from Chester, Manchester & beyond. Why else would they choose somewhere with good access to the bypass?

Aren’t the figures projected not actual? According to the last census there are actually less people living in Llay now than in 1991 which means that there must be some empty houses somewhere, or in the case of demolition, land that could be utilised without taking up green fields no matter what grade status they are given. One day, someone will wake up to the fact that we need fields to grow food to feed the population and there won’t be any left unless we want to live on artificial food in tablet form.

You only have 3 minutes to speak at the planning meeting. Make them count. It’s not long enough. Have you started a petition yet?

    Llay Immigration Statistics
These figures for Country of Birth for the residents of Llay are from the UK Census of 2011. Since Llay has a lower level of residents born in the UK than the national average and a higher rate of residents either born in other EU countries or outside the EU, it does have a significant immigrant population.

According to censuses, the population of Llay was less in 2011 than it was in 1991 & 2001 so the houses are not being built for local people.

It might be a good idea to look at the post about Brymbo Steelworks site to see if there is anything that can be learned from their experiences too. They fought a lengthy battle. It will be a good way back in the forum but you never know.
