Y FfinParticipantThe main aim of recycling is actually to encourage people to produce less waste in the first place by changing their behaviour and especially their shopping. I don’t see why the local environment and the planet should suffer just to allow a few reactionaries to continue their wasteful behaviour. As for litter, Wrexham has one of the biggest problem in Wales and it is local people who are dropping the rubbish! We don’t have enough tourists to put the blame on them!

Y FfinParticipantPerhaps she is also helping Glasgow with the Commonwealth Games and Brazil with the World Cup? I have no idea if she is any good at promotion, but when it comes to self-promotion she is in a league of her own.
Y FfinParticipantLet’s keep our fingers crossed that the market stalls aren’t extended into High Street – the rubbish sold in the Monday market brings very little into the local economy being mainly outside traders selling low quality imported goods. How about supporting the real local businesses that are here every day of the week!! I loved the farmers’ market, but obviously i was in a minority as it has folded, though farmers markets are thriving elsewhere. perhaps we should ask ourselves why?
Y FfinParticipantPseudo new labour … is it possible to be that fake??
These organisations are like mushrooms appearing overnight and going rotten very quickly. It’s very easy to be against something, but as soon as they try to decide what they are for, they will split into obscure socialist splinter groups squabbling on the head of a pin. Rule of history no.1 anyone using the term ‘people’s’ usually has very little time for people, especially those who have different views.
Y FfinParticipantThere is always the muck spreader option. Most move on once the cow and pig muck starts flying about. Of course, sewage farm sludge is now an option on the menu.
Y FfinParticipantGood to see some kind of beach appeared in Queen’s Square after all!!
Y FfinParticipantIt would probably be a waste of time until people realised that most of the ills they blame councillors for are way beyond their powers to solve or even ameliorate. We are still a centralised country whether that is powers to Cardiff, London, the City, Brussels or internationally, so allowing people to vent their spleen at their local councillor will have few results, save discouraging most people from what to become one.
Y FfinParticipantNorth Wales Police increased their precept on council tax by more than the rate of inflation and way more than the council increased its charge, so they are going to have to spend the money somehow. Can’t all go on pay and pensions!!
Y FfinParticipantCampaigners from single issue pressure groups realised some time ago that it’s far easier to get something published on the letters page than as editorial. Moreover there is the added bonus that editors don’t check letters for factual accuracy. Sometimes they are from unknown individuals, sometimes famous. They have two things in common: generally they aren’t written by the people whose names are at the bottom and secondly they are normally really dull. It’s happening online as well, so there’s no room for complacency!!
Y FfinParticipantKing Street definitely needs a makeover. Fingers crossed, it does not involve the design team who came up with the bus station. I am still searching for the municipal swimming pool/leisure centre somewhere in England whose owners still wonder why they have the roof that was obviously intended for a bus station.
