As an occasional train user could someone explain what I should do if I went to Gwersyllt station and wanted to go to Wrexham ? From what I have read there is no ticket machine at the station, so common sense suggests you pay on the train. Do you have to instigate that before you are asked for your ticket?

The Council have put forward some new initiatives for the Markets but need to follow them through. Perhaps they could post up what we might see before Christmas. I read somewhere that Father Christmas’s Grotto is to be in the People’s Market this year. It will certainly be warmer in there than Queen’s Square. I hope they signpost it well, we don’t want any children missing out because they can’t find Santa !!

Are there any references to the category of prison? Two thousand plus category “C” are a totally different prospect to two thousand category “B” ! Especially if the goalposts for category “A” are moved. Do the Council Planning Committee have any say over such things or are they restricted to comments on materials, highway access and such like?

As pointed out above, traders in the town have to compete with the Internet shopper too!

If the Council do go ahead with these increases I hope they include some ” specials” in the run up to Christmas. There are many alternatives Free Sundays, Free Late Nights ( Thursdays) , Early Bird ( free before 10 am), Free After Three on all car parks on Mondays in December, are just a few suggestions. The Christmas trading period is vital to many businesses survival and parking charges do play a part in where people go, Broughton and Cheshire Oaks are both free!

Is the bottom line of all that, the Council are going to pay consultants to tell them where/how to make the cuts?

At weekends it is pay and display to the general public, extending it to seven days a week would certainly increase revenue, much of the time it is almost empty.
