With all the commotion about the Proroguing of Parliament and the Supreme Courts statement, it was nothing to do with Brexit…
I wonder what view would have been taken regarding the Proroguing of Parliament under different circumstances.
Say for instance if the Scottish referendum on independence had succeeded and the UK Parliament was holding up the legitimate right of the Scottish people to withdraw from the UK and they were not being allowed to leave because “other parties” thought that they shouldn’t leave, if they didn’t have the right “deal”, (3 Years later).
Which everyone knows of course is a euphemism for not allowing them to leave at all.
Its beyond imagination the outrage the Scots would rightly feel.
Unlikely and bizarre as seems Boris Johnson could have been a Scottish hero!!
To take it one hypothetical step further and substitute Scotland for Wales what would our local MPs position be then ?
That he couldn’t support it, because it was his duty to represent all the people of Wrexham / Wales
If it takes 3 years and counting to leave EU ( after 40 years) then the negotions and Divirce settllement for Scots to leave GB will.be
££££££££££ s and years
I also think the same thing would have happened had Scotland voted Yes
This is messed up. The nation voted to leave, yet it seems more and more likely that eventually the referendum result will end up being overturned.
Depends on the individual WCBC warden but if it’s that nasty one called Mike, he’ll happily intimidate frail OAP’s whilst being too scared to approach and ticket the boy racers who illegally park outside McDonald’s
Please don’t bring Kingdom or any private enforcement ompany back to issue tickets. In Birkenhead a few days ago, a lady was walking with her 2 year old son and he accidentally dropped his biscuit. A Kingdom “officer” then followed her for 10 minutes and actually tried to block her path whilst threatening her with police involvement for “obstruction” for refusing to give him her details. Eventually the lady’s husband came on the scene and the Kingdom “officer” immediately walked off. If anyone is issuing fines for littering in Wrexham then it should be the Councils own in house enforcement team and not a private for profit company
Quite right, the situation with waiting times have definitely gotten worse since Tony Blair opened the floodgates in 2004. More people needing to use the NHS means longer waiting times.
He is worried about what the jobcentre will say at his next appointment in a couple of weeks, when he has to admit that he turned the work down. Wether or not the jobcentre will accept that not being offered a wage is grounds for turning work down is debatable.
That’s pretty much it yes. They say that he’s not working for free as he will still receive his benefit money, but that works out at £320 a month, whereas two weeks work being paid the national minimum wage would earn him at least £500.October 11, 2018 at 11:29 am in reply to: Household Waste being put into, and by public bins. #157204
Exactly what I was about to say, maybe if the bin collections hadn’t have been cut back, then maybe this wouldn’t be happening. I don’t think Bithell is in any position to lecture people though.October 10, 2018 at 6:15 pm in reply to: Kingdom Zero Tolerance video evidence blocked by Wrexham Council bureaucracy #157182
The Eagles Meadow management employ a cleaning company to supply workers for the site. You often see them walking up and down the main plaza sweeping up litter as they go.
Good riddance Kingdom, let’s hope a certain two Councillors on the executive board follow them out of the doorSeptember 14, 2018 at 10:19 am in reply to: Kingdom Zero Tolerance video evidence blocked by Wrexham Council bureaucracy #155899
What makes it even worse is that Councillor Bithell is still happy even now for Kingdom “officers” to be on the streets of Wrexham using fake threats of police assistance in order to scare people into paying illegal FPN’s.
