WreX-iTParticipant
Are the councillors telling residents that they disapprove of gardening and growing your own vegetables by charging for green bin collections, but are fine with people producing non-recyclable waste because black bin collections continue without an additional charge? We could, of course, just concrete over our gardens turning them into parking lots as Joni Mitchell wrote – provide work for local building companies creating additional pollution, give two fingers to nature and birdlife, despoil the streetscapea of our local towns and villages and create additional water run off which will force the council to spend even more money on ensuring our local drains are clear.
Did Joni Mitchell really write “provide work for local building companies creating additional pollution, give two fingers to nature and birdlife, despoil the streetscapea of our local towns and villages and create additional water run off which will force the council to spend even more money on ensuring our local drains are clear.”???
Does anyone know if people on benefits will have to pay the £25 or is it just another tax on people who work?
I know people in Flintshire where they have to pay £30 a year for green bins who put their grass cuttings in the brown bin or put them in neighbours bin or the ones in rural areas tip them in fields or besides the road. £30 isn’t much but people say why pay when they already pay Council tax.

WreX-iTParticipantDo you think that schools having to spend their budget on educating non-English speaking pupils (not Welsh) plays a part?
When I were a lad we had none of this pussy footing cr@p and mum and dad would help with homework and we had no computers. We also got caned if we were bad so it stopped you from being naughty There we no schools in special measures and we did ok. We got jobs, we bought houses.
We are all doomed because the future is snowflake!

Matt your donkey comment reminds me of the Monty Python election special ……….
Cleese: No I’m sorry, there isn’t time, we have to pick up a few results you may have missed. A little pink pussy-cat has taken Barrow-in-Furness — that’s a gain from the Liberals there. Rastus Odinga Odinga has taken Wolverhampton Southwest, that’s Enoch Powell’s old constituency — an important gain there for ****** Power. Arthur Negus has held Bristol — that’s not a result, that’s just a piece of gossip. Sir Alec Douglas Hume has taken Oldham for the Stone Dead party. A small piece of putty about that big, a cheese mechanic from Dunbar and two frogs — one called Kipper the other not — have all gone ‘Ni ni ni ni ni ni!’ in Blackpool Central. And so it’s beginning to look like a Silly landslide, and with the prospect of five more years’ Silly government facing us we… Oh I don’t want to do this any more, I’m bored!
Palin: He’s right you know, it is a bloody waste of time.
Chapman: Absolute waste of time.

WreX-iTParticipantThat wasn’t meant to read as racist it is just that i have friends on waiting lists but they never get to the top and cant afford to pay private rent prices.
WreX-iTParticipantThe Council should stop providing Council houses. Lets face it they are giving them out to people from abroad now when they should be giving them to people from here first.
If i went to portugal or poland and said to them that i want a house do you think they will say YES SIR HAVE A NICE HOUSE. We have just decorated it for you and done the gardens well tidy. And while you are livin here you can have lots of free medical treatment and medicine? PS would you like some benefits too?
[There are approximately 900,000 Polish nationals living in Britain, the largest group of foreign nationals in the UK, and Polish is the second most widely spoken language in Britain after English]
The council should let the private sector provide all housing and put a cap on rent to stop people being ripped off.
i know Tenant ballot in 2004 was against stock transfer but they should have another referendum (sound familiar?) Also back then the people living in the houses were mostly from THIS country.

WreX-iTParticipantPeople who don’t travel in the rush hour do not give a flying fart about everyone else – Concillor Wynn I am talkin’ to you.
Something else that made me laugh was Lawrence Isthead, who stated in his report that “given that the units are solely for the use of students, I see no reason why any occupier should, or would desire to have a motor vehicle during their occupancy.”
I am guessing that Mr Isthead went to university at Hogwarts (link to Matt) and they all had broomsticks and owls.
