woogleeyeParticipantThis is just the tip of the very large iceberg with the mantra being by all councils now ‘keep hitting the council tax payer with increased costs for this and that as often as we can’ except in Conwy where every and all costs will probably have to increase tenfold as they have to pay for that wonderful new council building with its showers and hairdryers which so fits in with the surrounding buildings.
Wrexham should if any ‘perks’ are still in operation stop them, no further ‘vanity’ projects if any are on the table for discussion also review the daily parking charges they introduced for their staff if the scheme is now in operation but this could be ignored so as to not cause them further financial hardship.
And as the settlement is decided by our masters in the Senedd perhaps they will take a closer look at how far that local government has fallen and be more generous with their financial allocations to the forgotten land of North Wales.
But I do not hold out much hope as South Wales always has and will continue to be looked after so perhaps we should all now be looking at one bedroom flats with no gardens.

woogleeyeParticipantPerhaps if our Chief Planning Officer lived in the area maybe his comment would not have been made but stuck in a traffic queue at peak times in and around Wrexham will not bother him as it will a fair number of residents/commuters.
But on the bright side guys and gals it will be more revenue into the councils pot so for those who will have a major problem with this all I can say is tough shit since as we all know money talks and the pound signs are so bright the eyes of those making all the decisions on our behalf are lit up with joy.
And Matt you are so right with your comments the long game by our masters in the guildhall is being played and I have to think their is a hidden agenda behind all this, time as they say will reveal all.
woogleeyeParticipantAs CHANGE UK did nothing in these elections will we now see Anna Soubry crawling back under the rock she managed to escape from and that Chuka Umunna will defect back to Corbin’s (for the many not the few and who I would not trust to turn on a tap ) Labour party.
woogleeyeParticipantWell surprise surprise that it has been deferred must be so difficult to implement but it just shows what this council is all about look after yourselves as much as possible and two fingers in the face to the taxpayers.
Right on guys and galls you are doing such a grand job in these difficult times your fingers are on the pulse and the brains are working overtime but not for us it seems.
woogleeyeParticipantWhat did you expect this is Wrexham council after all, the decision to charge the ‘elite’ and others was only a token gesture to show the masses that they had listened (yeah right).
You have to look after your own in these trying times of budget cuts etc as these people need all the financial help they can get.
I think somebody worked out that the cost per day to park came to £0.25 pence (could be wrong) but whatever, once again this council looked inwards and not at the big picture whilst the plebs have to pay full price so no surprise here that the system is not in operation.
We are all not in this together.
woogleeyeParticipantPerhaps the Strategic Director or whatever he is called now who by all accounts pushed for all this work to be carried out everywhere in the locality should stand up and apologise to us the ratepayers for the shoddy and forever ongoing works that Virgin Media have been carrying out.
Was there ever any decent communication between the council and the contractors doing the job or was it just ‘get the job done as quickly as possible’.
I see it as just another calamity by the powers that be sat in their ivory towers so far removed from the rest of ‘joe public’.
woogleeyeParticipantThis is Ratchett & Clank with their new trainee (yawn).
woogleeyeParticipantCommon sense and the majority of our elected councillors do not seem to go together its more of we will follow the those who control us with eyes full of devotion to the cause.
woogleeyeParticipantBeing a cynic of all things Wrexham Council under the current control of ‘Little & Large’ I have to wonder whether the majority of decisions have already been made behind closed doors with regards to the council budget for the coming year as we all know how open this regime has been in the past in its dealings.
I assume that whatever happens come the 1st April 2018 expenditure on the arts hub will be ring fenced and protected up to the gills as those who voted for this project will have made one hundred percent sure that nothing gets in the way of it not being completed as they must see it as the first step in the grand plan for the regeneration of the town centre.
I just wonder what other ideas/plans etc these people have stuck away in the broom closet and god help us if any are agreed upon whilst they merrily cut current services and look at increasing costs.
woogleeyeParticipantJust another piss poor performance by a certain percentage of our elected representatives who need the gravy train to keep running and their big snouts in the trough.
And another two fingers to the council tax payers who as all know are looked on as cash cows, I wonder how much more they will tell us no demand us to pay come April 2018.
And I have to wonder who sits and makes the pay recommendations on this independent review panel nudge nudge wink wink. -
