The site on the St Giles way opposite the parish church would be ideal. Bringing more people into the town centre. The site is also in the ownership of the Council. Maybe they have already made the phone call !
I’m sure when the Kings Arms pub and surrounding buildings were demolished it was so the area could be developed and a hotel was part of the planned development.

Popped to the cash machine at Asda today and had a quick look to see what is going on.
It looks to me that a car wash will be going back there as the drainage has been improved with what looks like a dedicated wash area as well as footings put in place to hold the uprights of a canopy.

If the traffic at 6am this morning is anything to go by not many people will be sticking to the new limit.

The bit of land just off St Giles link road (where the Kings Arms pub was) could easily be levelled and surfaced. It would make an ideal coach park just outside the town centre.

Traffic lights are there to stop all traffic to allow emergency vehicles to exit the fire/ambulance station quickly.

    I parked there today.
Easy in and out (apart from me trying to put card in wrong slot on exit!).
Paid less then when I used it as a pay and display car park.
anyone know what is happening at Arnolds — all windows have been blocked while work being carried out.

There is a sign outside saying that an indian cuisine establishment is opening soon!…..or it maybe an Italian one…Didn’t really read it properly!
Good to see a number of new shops opening up in the town , although they are on the fringe of town rather than in the centre. Euro Car Parts have their signage up on the old MFI shop off Mount Street
Euro Car Parts are relocating from across the road.

Also in the twitter picture showing gridlock today, why are people walking down the road?

Wasn’t that a completely different section of the A55?
