Hasn’t the beach moved venue to eagles meadow now ?
I seem too remember it was going to be based in the ‘old’ town center somewhere.

Interesting to see their next steps.

Disagree. When will the voters wake up and smell the coffee.

All voters are to blame for voting in the fat cat politicians.

Crying shame that 90% of voters only relate to politics when it’s time to vote, and most of them seem to vote ‘as my parents did’ anyway. Shame.

on perhaps if they had a real consultation process!!!

I personally feel they should pay the grant back!

But would a real democratic consultation take away from the mystic of decision making of the WCBC ?
How would certain members justify their ‘large’ salary or certain committees justify their existence if input from the masses was deemed ‘worthy’ ?
Re Payback, When was the last time any civil servant paid back monies they had gained through ‘their misinformed decisions’ ?

BTW, I’m in agreement with your 2 points, shame not many people do.

The Council should have posted on here before the meeting to decide on the fate of the bus service. We could have given them an idea or two to try before scrapping the service!

That would be boarding on democracy ! Everyday People contributing to decisions that may effect us. It’ll never catch on!

I think a shopping corridor is a good idea. The problem is most of the buildings are privately owned and then their is the question of rates for a half emptu building. If that can sorted out, I think it would help the town no end.

I didn’t say my plan would be easy, but it’s the best solution I can see.
Regroup the shops into a nucleus, this should make shopping in Wrexham a better experience, therefore greater numbers coming here which in turn attracts more stores / shops.
    This is regeneration.
Providing a shuttle bus was just like putting a sticking plaster on your knee. Whilst it was highly visible and served a small purpose, you knew it was going to fall off and leave a horrible mess for all to see.

Whilst I feel sorry for the town centre forum trying to make a silk purse out of a pig’s ear. I’m no inner city / town planner but surely at the moment Wrexham has too few ‘open shops’ spread across a wide area.
What if the few shops were moved to form a shopping corridor ( eagles meadow & island green linked) via shops.
Imagine a supermarket with only half the shelves empty but spread across the whole store ! Empty spaces here and there, poor utilization of space. Reality states that if they had half of their stock, they’d compound it into half a full store, and turn the lights off in the bit not being used.
Very simplistic, but you’ve got to start somewhere.

Would it be better to subsidise the buses INTO Wrexham than around Wrexham. A free bus to and from a certain route at certain times ? Surely, this will increase the town’s actual footfall rather than just moving it about our twin centered town.
Obviously, if you keep the return bus late enough to give shoppers a lengthy period to shop in too, again, maximise your footfall.
Car drivers get subsided parking too on some days on different carparks.

Sorry Wayne, most of your historical tour would of consisted of something like
“In 1992 the WCBC knocked down …….. and built ………., sadly it’s been vacant since 2010”.

A lot of Wrexham’s soul has been lost to development instead of preserving our heritage.

Manifestos, some of the best pieces of modern fiction are political manifestos.
When they’re published, does anyone actually believe for one moment that when the party in question is actively going to go out of their way to achieve these ‘promises’ ?
A lot of voters have very short memories.
What ever happened to clarity, honesty and democracy ?
