    Put simply.

    Your mail is safe.

Dog control is not the Royal Mail’s problem – safety of their employees is.

Apply pressure to those whose responsibility it is: The owners and the Council.
    – As an aside, when you see the dogs roaming, call the Dog Warden, they need to know! And keep calling them.

When it is safe to do so your mail service will resume.

I do not speak for the Royal Mail in any capacity other than former employee.

Another law for the police to choose whether or not to implement…

Not that I’m against the idea of not smoking in the car when you’re with children, but looking at the sheer number of people driving with phones pressed to their ears, or the police ignoring dangerously parked cars, suggests that enforcement may not be a high priority – Hell! if you can’t pick it up with a camera, there’s not much chance of being caught!

I believe an earlier solution was a man walking in front of the vehicle with a red flag…

In these allegedly financial straitened times, it does seem odd that money can always be found for speed limit signs and the cameras to enforce the limits within them.

Its not the police’ job to play politics or make the law, merely to enforce the law as it stands.

If elements within North Wales Police do not like the current laws on alcohol production, sale and consumption, they should stand for public office on the basis of their proposed policies, and see how they get on…

The SIP appears to be a plan for the moulding of the community to ensure the council’s ongoing monolithic existence, rather than an identification of the needs of the community.

TL;DR – It’s for the council, not the people it serves.

So just to be clear then…

There’s no guarantee of any of the construction work/jobs going to the local area.

There’s no guarantee of any of the prison jobs going to the local area.

There’s no guarantee of any of the service jobs going to the local area.

There’s no guarantee of any supplies for the prison being sourced locally.

Prisoners released on licence into the town.

The good points of a super prison would be what exactly?

I’m just not seeing it myself sorry.

Wayne, you illustrate how to not take stats at face value – the Spanish have made a quite stupendous improvement in their road safety figures – they appear to attribute it to a more visible policing policy – my Spanish is awful and the google translator’s not much better!

Compare that with the barely visible policing in the UK, I can almost not remember the time I last saw a traffic car out and about. Speed cameras don’t catch drinkers or druggies or tailgaters or mobile phoners or…. etc etc, but if there was a chance that you may be seen and stopped? I don’t think more speed limits are the answer because the ones in force now cannot afford to be enforced by appropriate observation and patrolling – people soon learn where the cameras are, and are likely to be. Speed cameras save pennies and waste pounds.

Wayne as you suggest, road fatalities cost billions, but the complete lack of ‘not in my budget’ joined up thinking in the UK prevents the savings being made in lives and money.

Sam, interesting reading… :D – indeed one of the three crashes to be found on Wrexham.com regarding the link road, was a single vehicle accident where the lady ‘lost control of her vehicle’ – where speed was not indicated as a potential cause – we may surmise, however there is no evidence.
