Good shout. Being discussed on 10th March.
Executive Board Forward Work ProgrammeLooking to seek approval for replacement of Waterworld..
Interesting trust mention considering todays debate:
“To seek approval for proposals to replace Waterworld and for the future of the dual use leisure centres and to update Members on progress in transferring the leisure service to an existing leisure trust.”
Would Wrexham Council finance a multi million pound new facility to give it away to a trust?

So with the Police Station demolition creeping ever closer, time to acquire a new town centre site is running out. It was stated last year in the Executive Board meeting that the new site would need to be acquired by March 2015.
….
it doesn’t seem viable to build another leisure facility in place of Waterworld as was being discussed last year. I wonder what Plan B might be..
On the first point I get the impression that if the planning is not granted / site secured then the current police station site would be redeveloped by the five-0
Waterworld’s replacement, or planned replacement, is up next month I think – would have to check the forward work programme doc.

WOW Just seen the new design of the police station where did all that water come from ??????????? is it going to be by the flash? or was it in high flood and its going by holt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NWP have said they no longer have Canute-esque powers due to changes in regulatory frameworks, so once global warming takes full effect that is what it will look like :D
RobParticipantThe WG consultation on local gov changes had 170 replies, I think that was with 25 from ‘general public’ as well so if that is true for the toilets question, I fear to your thoughts on that! :)
Another question is are these for guidance and a flavour of thought or mini referendums on issues?
RobParticipantThe term limits could be good – however 25 years still seems ages!
To me a term limit based on sequential terms would be better, so you can have two terms back to back then have to stand down. This would allow new blood, but also opportunity for those who are good to ‘come back’.
(For reference the bigger list of proposals are Welsh Government Consultation Launches On Council Reform | Wrexham.com )
RobParticipantTold today that the webcast system broke late on – and requires people to come in and fix it. Would point to non-trivial issue, and I would guess that the people coming in are part of any support agreement etc.

Does this idea of selling on details to third parties make the data protection act null and void here?
It is still subject to it:
The open register is an extract of the electoral register, but is not used for elections. It can be bought by any person, company or organisation. For example, it is used by businesses and charities to confirm name and address details. The personal data in the register must always be processed in line with data-protection legislation.
Your name and address will be included in the open register unless you ask for them to be removed. Removing your details from the open register would not affect your right to vote.
Who uses the open register?
Users of the open register include:
businesses checking the identity and address details of people who apply for their services such as insurance, goods hire and property rental, as well as when they shop online
businesses selling age-restricted goods or services, such as alcohol and gambling online, to meet the rules on verifying the age of their customers
charities and voluntary agencies, for example to help maintain contact information for those who have chosen to donate bone marrow and to help people separated by adoption to find each other
charities, to help with fundraising and contacting people who have made donations
debt-collection agencies when tracing people who have changed address without telling their creditors
direct-marketing firms when maintaining their mailing lists
landlords and letting agents when checking the identity of potential tenants
local councils when identifying and contacting residents
online directory firms to help users of the websites find people, such as when reuniting friends and families
organisations tracing and identifying beneficiaries of wills, pensions and insurance policies
private-sector firms to verify details of job applicants.
RobParticipantPosted this on Facebook and it has had 25k views and about 60 comments so far – lots of accounts from people have come in and quite a few posted on there.
Direct link to the FB thread: https://www.facebook.com/wrexhamdotcom/posts/755842484470503
Obviously no indication they are all the same person, but some accounts posted up are not great to read at all.
RobParticipantOn https://www.facebook.com/wrexhamdotcom there was a comment that even after the reopening and 40mph restrictions people were still trying to overtake, and someone else saying similar ” I got overtaken on the top. The Idiot nearly hit the cones as he darted back in line”
RobParticipantYes – been nosing at that on and off (been looking at a few energy things since 2011 regarding the Falklands & Rockhopper!)
Another interesting one out today is Schlumberger Cuts 9,000 Jobs – Business Insider
First two lines:
“Here come the oil-related job cuts.In its fourth quarter earnings announcement on Thursday, oilfield services company Schlumberger announced that it will cut 9,000 jobs, or about 8% of its workforce.
RobParticipantIf it is linked then this from beeb’s Peston today could give timeframe to when it could return: “I understand BP expects oil price of $50 to $60 for 2 to 3 years”
