    Andrew, I have no idea of Lib Dem party policies as I do not follow them.
    I can’t understand why you would come on here to publicly slate a hard working Councillor who doesn’t even represent you.
    Parties change, people change & I (along with the majority of people) will vote for the person who I feel would work tirelessly for my village regardless of which party they belong to.
    I think WreX-iT had hit the nail on the head.

    Andrew Bailey you seem to suggest that Rob’s defection has nothing to do with party policies and just a means to better himself by joining the majority group.

    Party policies and directions change. You will remember back in 2014, 10 councillors defected from the labour group in Wrexham, nothing to do with bettering themselves as Labour was the majority group at the time.

    The only people Rob needs to justify his reasons to is the good residents of Llay. I have no doubt with his track record of working tirelessly for his village, he will once again be elected with a large majority of votes.

    Sorry Wrexview, if you are looking at the page numbers on the bottom, The Groves is on page 544.

    The groves site is on the new LDP out for consultation, I think it’s page 575. The whole of the site is outlined and proposed use is ‘residential’.
    It mentions site constraints but it does highlight the fact that WCBC have looked into building houses on there!

    We need to remember though, these councillors are on call 24/7 in their communities so attendance at meetings is only a small part of what their duties actually entail. Are your councillors there for you when you need them? Do they resolve issues within their communities? Personally this is more important to me. There may be councillors whose attendance is 100% at meetings but if they are not there when you need them, what good are they?

    I agree Captain C, Cllr Boland is an asset to Llay. We have had some poor councillors in recent years from different parties. As we saw in the local election last year, people are now voting for the best person to represent our village, regardless of what party they represent.

    Are we getting value for money from the new enlarged Executive Board? Having watched a number of webcast meetings , there is no obvious difference , the meetings still appear staged and most important votes are unanimous. The extra two members cost in the region of £63,000, what purpose do they serve ?

    Executive – Relating to or having the power to put plans or actions into effect (think about the savings they will make on the Groves!)

    And this is why they get Executive pay!
    We certainly get Value For Money, no qualms about that.

    A bit early Councillor X, still another 29 days until April’s fool!

    [quote quote=108515]Whether you love the Arts or hate them. This town needs something more than just crap pubs and cheap shops.

    It would need a miracle

    https://www.wrexham.gov.uk/assets/pdfs/key_docs/constitution_2015.pdf

    Article 1 – The Constitution Wrexham County Borough Council
    2. support the active involvement of citizens in the process of local authority decision-making;

    Article 2
    2.03 Roles and functions of all councillors
    (a) Key roles. All councillors will:

    (ii) represent their communities and bring their views into the Council’s decision- making process;
    (iv) balance different, often conflicting, interests identified within the electoral division and represent the electoral division as a whole;

    It seems this decision has been rushed through without any consultation with the public. The local member for this ward spoke up at the executive board meeting but her words fell on deaf ears. Wrexham Council are becoming more and more distanced from the electorate and it will continue until they start listening to residents.

    Here is one of the latest consultations:-

    What is Important to You? – Council Plan Consultation
    We want to find out what is important to you…

    What do you want to see more of in Wrexham?
    What do you want to see less of?
    What do you want to start happening?
    What do you want to stop happening?

    The Council has a plan that sets out what we want to achieve to make Wrexham a better place. Every year the Council refreshes this plan. We want the plan to be right, so we want to hear from local people.

    Is it any wonder that the council do not get a lot of responses to these! Do they listen?
