I realise that as the householders they did not cause the problem but why should taxpayers pay for industrial waste problems that the ‘authorities’ should have dealt with. This is going to open an avalanche of claims — the Minister Carl Sargent says it won’t set a precedent — once the first payment is made a precedent is in place. This is going to cost Wales £millions.

The amount of ‘reclaimed’ land from mining , steel works and other heavy industry is 1000 of acres.

If you are not from the area that you are living in fnd someone over the age of 60 and ask them what was on the land before your house was built.

This is not community it is about the appropriate authority being brought to account for not carrying out their job. There are very significant areas around Wrexham that are potential pollutant sites and the same costs could be incurred over and over.

It does not matter of the issue took place under different LA as all previous actions fall to the current administration when changes occur.

In this instance the developer will have made significant profits .

If only people actually ask local people — many of the older people in Coedpoeth at the time as they said no one should build on know polluted land.
Recent houses in Rhostyllen will be subject to the same with industrial pollution from the foundry.
The old Monsanto and Air Products are the same — industry should pay up for their pollution and householders should double check.

I fully agree Party Politics should not cross the threshold when it comes to saving services for the benefit of local people and using community success for political gain should not happen– unfortunately this never seem sti be the case and party and personality politics takes over.
Not seen the snipe at Clr Rogers what has been said

Dont forget there is a deadline date a week on Monday which after this date will forbid existing MPs to engage fully with Civil Servants or appear as an MP as Parliament will be dissolved and the 6 week perda period commences.

Can we all assume that the Wrexham Trust will be made up of the same Councilors who are failing our town at the moment. As a regular at Wrexham Library no one has asked me what I think or if I would like to be a Trust member, non of the staff have a clue what is going on (appalling staff management). You cannot run a community Trust without the community being involved.
Equally I have a number of friends in the arts community in Wrexham and non of them have been asked to be a part of any development or for their assistance.
Please can Clr Wynn list who is being consulted as it certainly appears it is not the Community who will be asked to foot the bill in the future or be part of a Management Group.
Sorry Clr Wynn I don’t think you have got the measure of the Lead Member yet and the manipulations that go on behind closed doors.
Personally if you don’t get the measure of Lead Members and their officers you would struggle in Westminster as the behind closed door activity is even greater. If he is now delaying until May what is it he is researching, who is advising and how much are we all paying again for consultants. Lets see if you will ask the questions now before the report is even written– when will the report go to Scrutiny or will it go straight to Executive Board!!
    You are being strung along..

Andrew yiu make a very valued point and just gives to show how Councilors (some) can so easily change the colour of the spots they were born with. It also now looks like we have got to put up with the current motley group of Councilors until 2018 as it appears Local Government elections are going to move for 12 months to enable boundary reorganisation.

If you are making reference to the inward migration then Wales would have run out of people to sustain itself about 8 years ago. By that I men if you reverse the trend of inward migration either from England or a foreign country the health service, many manufacturing plants, construction projects would nit be here today. Before you say the unemployed could take the jbs — do you want an unqualified unemployed person to perform an operation on you in the hospital or an untrained electrician.
Even if all the unemployed people had skills we needed based on the population of eight years ago we would have aprox 4,000 job vacancies in the region,
The fact is the deamand for peole to keeo our society sustauable cannot be met from within Wales

Self interest is clearly a way society has moved with personal interest being way ahead of thinking about others. Personality politics
