In the spirit of openness when I submit my invoice to the Council for 10% of the savings I have identified in the budget I will keep 50% and share the other between Wrexham.com for confirming the figures and charities who are always having money taken from them by the Council.
My 10% will, of course, be fully in line with the astronomical fees that PWC charged the Council for finding cuts that even lay people like me could identify.
I do not accept that there is only an error on one of the lines — looking at the chart overall there are some other anomalies that may appear if Rob – Wrexham.com presses hard enough to find the actuals against the heading that are on the pie chart.
Another interesting one is Fire Levy — is this an insurance policy against all Council Buildings or what else is it covering??

I was not advocating taking food from children just that if parents are dropping children off to go to work then they should pay for the childcare.There needs to be some real consideration about how the Council cost all of their services and give consideration if the private or community sector can still provide good quality services at a cheaper cost. At present the Council operates on a 29% plus pension contribution for all staff = 8/9% for current staff and 21% to feed pension deficits – surely other providers would deliver more for less and still provide quality provision. There is no difference in the way a private sector care home is inspected compared with a Local Authority.
How Independent is an Independent when the Leaders of the two Independent Groups in Wrexham have been in discussion with the Independent candidates to try and get them to join THEIR Group of Independents to form a Group which then means the Independents will be able to act together and yes get the better paid jobs on the Executive and Committee Chairs rather than acting independently they will have a group of Independents who no longer are permitted to think independently because the Leader of their Independent Group will make sure that they tow the ‘party’ line.
Will any party actually join protests against their political ‘masters’ in Cardiff. Will Labour controlled Local Government really protest against those in Cardiff who hold the purse strings?
The scary thing is that there is a moron still out there in possession of a gun. A horse has been killed what will be there next target? Lets hope the Police catch them asap
I had one of these cards through the post as well which is interesting as my employment has ceased with the Council so the circulation may be to ex employees as well. It is rediculous if the Council have spent a single penny of ratepayers funding in estblishing this scheme.
I agree with Council Warcher this is a kick in the teeth for local indendent shops as they are highly unlikley to be able to afford ti adveretsie through these tryppes of scheme.
Hope Wrexham.com make more enqiries on this issue and people like Nigel Lewis who set up Wrexham Savers has a view as well.Andrew was in the Labour Group that voted to keep Plas Madoc – the other half od the Party led by Neil Rogers (10 of them) left the Labour Party and joined the Independent Coalition.
Lets see if the Local Labour Party acrfoss the ountry who have supported Jeremy Corbyn now have the ‘bottle’ to deselect thier current MPs if they voted to get rid of Corbyn. It is bound to happen in some of the more militant areas – not sure you could call Labour in Wrexham militant when they can only get 30 peole to Ian Lucas meeting and less than 100 for Owen Smith..

There is an alternative way for small shops to get off the ground by someone taking a lead to gather details of all of the potentials and then to see who could operate together from one shop unit — dare I say create another market with shared costs.
Does anyone in the Council have this info to broker.
