peteParticipantTrains between Wrexham and Chester were also delayed this evening by 40-60 mins due to ‘engineering work’, even though National Rail Enquiries were stating the trains were expected to arrive on time (and no info on Arriva’s website).
peteParticipantWill Kingdom Security be enforcing dog control orders as well, or just giving out fines for fouling?
peteParticipantOur normal day was Monday. I didn’t know of the change but the PDF calendar says it should have been collected on Tuesday.
Bins and recycling were put out Sunday night and weren’t collected on Monday or Tuesday.
peteParticipantWill we see some road widening/straightening/improvement works as a result of this, or will we just see the speed limit dropped even further?

peteParticipantI guess it’s not helpful that there’s only 2 lanes to start with, not the 3 on the sign.
peteParticipantI had assumed that the new Aldi would replace the existing one, like when Iceland moved to island green.
Do the planning documents say that they are keeping both stores?
peteParticipant
Having avoided the junction for the last few months, I used it for the first time the other night when traveling home from Chester. While I was pleasantly surprised by the improved traffic flow I was concerned by the unfinished nature of the whole project (Armco Barriers not terminated correctly or missing, pavements and verges still needing repair and plastic conduit sticking out of ground).
Does anyone know if there are any plans to complete these tasks

I had asked the same question about the cycle path (e.g. when are they going to fill in the potholes they built into it…).
The reply was that they are going to resurface the potholed bits – but no timescale given.
Some bits that have already been built are still having the design agreed with Cheshire West, so might get redone
They also said they will be carrying out an audit at some point and will come back to make any alterations needed that this picks up (again no timescales given). So much for doing things right first time.
July 6, 2015 at 1:15 pm in reply to: Non Traditional Properties to Benefit From External Wall Insulation Over Next 4 #96611
peteParticipantThis grant is for non traditional housing built after the war to fill the housing shortage. Solid brick walls are a very traditional way of building.
There have been grants available to everyone for insulation in the past but the latest big scheme is this one which is a loan: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/green-deal
If you’re claiming a means tested benefit I think there are grants available (rather than loans). Energy companies also offer insulation in some cases.
peteParticipant
It’s finished and open at last!!!
The road is finished. The all singing and dancing cycle path/footpath is far from finished – bits still dug up, bits not surfaced, 2x crossings not put in (and another which is needed but they’re not putting in).The first thing they did when BBMM arrived on site was to dig up the footpaths, and they’re the last thing to put back.
Sorry if I’m holding anyone up, but I’ve got to cycle along the road now until it’s sorted.
peteParticipantThis morning there was hardly any congestion going northbound up to the roundabout. There’s still a lane shut, it’s just a different one.
As for finished by Sunday? I’ll believe it when I see it – they’ve got to do most of the cycle path/footpath, put up another crossing, presumably replace the lights at the A55 roundabout with ones not in oil barrels…
