The press release seemed to suggest the money was for cleaning and some stickers. I suspect Ken was sent up to North Wales just to announce something to try and keep people happy.

But anyway, according to TfW’s document here (https://tfw.gov.wales/sites/default/files/inline-files/Detailed%20Briefing.pdf) we’ll at least be getting a useful Sunday train service from December….

It would help if they painted names on the lanes too to make it clear, but it seems to be council policy to leave everything ambiguous. Same with all the roundabouts along the link road.

The council always used to put weedkiller down along the kerbs to keep the weeds down but people kicked up a fuss about it and they’ve stopped doing it (around here they have anyway).

It could be approved with a condition that the road is properly upgraded and some contribution is made towards the GP surgery (if it’s a problem that can simply be solved with money).
But the diversions are only in place from 19:00 – 06:00 aren’t they ?
Road was closed around 18:30 this evening.
Church Street and Pont Adam were chaos. The road is also flooded in 3 places further up.

About 10 years ago when I worked for a contractor, we needed to replace a long length of sewer in a road somewhere in Wrexham because it had collapsed. The road had just been resurfaced a month or two before and the highways department (quite reasonably IMO) said we would need to resurface the full width of the road when the work was done, and this is what we did.
    I don’t know what’s changed since then.

It’s the same with the terrible resurfacing done after roadworks – if we left the road lumpy, potholed or if manhole covers sunk we were faxed(!) a legal notice giving us between 2 hours and 28 days to sort it out. Councils now claim they have no powers to make contractors make good their shoddy work.

I saw the messages on Twitter about the “new” lines but if you look on Google Streetview they were there before (including the no loading stripes).

Agree about the lack of publicity about statutory notices, as far as I’m aware they’re not published online and the only way to find out is to look for the A4 piece of paper tied to a lampost (which sometimes appears after it’s too late anyway) or keep buying The Leader and hope it’s in there.

    The sabotage claim is intruiging,….

I noticed today that Arriva had posters up saying on that particular route you could use rival operators’ tickets on Arriva buses for an extra £1. I don’t think Arriva liked having competition.
