Why is democracy held up as the great shining light? Why are we made to choose between parties? Why not cherry pick the best from all sides, even from industry, regardless of any party affiliation, then we could move forward as meritocracy, where positions in government and policies are run by people who actually know what they are doing and are experts in there chosen department.
Really, what actual relevant qualifications have any of our cabinet ministers got regarding te actual department they lead? One minute they’re head of the health ministry next theyre running the defence department….. Where is the relevance? There is none of course, it’s just jobs for the boys, and that is why it’s a mess.

So, because I won’t vote in a rigged system, where keeping the status quo and the charade that passes as a democracy alive, I should have no opinion according to some on here. I don’t do this lightly, I withdraw my vote in disgust. Disgust at career politicians who are happy to achieve nothing in political life except draw a great salary plus benefits ad finitum. Disgust at the hypocrisy of chasing benefit fraudsters yet ignoring the banking rip off. Disgust at tax breaks for multi million pound business whilst joe public has to grovel for pathetic tax credits. Disgust that 2 million children are being brought up in abject poverty today, even though there parents are in a lot of cases working. And being disgusted that we can pay for a ten year war in the middle east yet we can’t pay for cancer drugs or foot the bill for pensioners heating.
If you believe in these talking heads that’s fine, me, I like to think for myself.

Why don’t we just take the bloody rubbish to the tip ourselves, it’s getting to the point of it not being a service provided by the council at all, but a legal duty to put your damn bin out!!
And whilst we happily recycle our little bit, china fires up a new coal burning power station every week. If we are serious about recycling and emissions then we would provide clean tech for china with no strings, as we all breath the same air.

No one is condoning any unruly behaviour but a sense of perspective is needed. Are the figures of 1,2 per cent really shocking as claimed?? What about the other 98.8 per cent? I think not. And I hope my interpretation of the facts are not regarded as flippancy. Surely our role is to question outrageous claims like the headline portrayed in the piece.

700 occurances over 570 days of teaching around 8,000 secondary children a day in Wrexham. That’s about 1.2 a day or 1 in every 6500 children. We love a headline!

Lol… Coincidentally I’m reading the great welsh thinker Bertrand Russell’s History of Western Philosophy (1946) at the moment. What a great man.
