This issue has raised a lot of comments over the past few days, some being sarcastic or critical and others more constructive. However, due to the growing trend of technology being used to run our lives it is assumed that every household in the country has access to the internet. Unfortunately this is not the case. This can be due to the elderly not having the internet or people on low incomes who can only regard the World Wide Web as a luxury. So come on you people out there who have criticised this issue, please have a think about all sides to this story and consider people in all walks of life with differing situations and let us see what transpires.

All ‘low income families’ I know have internet, tablets, iphone 6’s, 42inch flat screens, sky TV etc..etc…

    :) Correct

Yes there was, but perhaps it was a bit personal/racist/controversial.

Basically that. There are ways and means to debate issues and 99% of the time things are fine, but on occasion if they go over the line they will get binned.

Anyone who spots anything objectionable please email us and/or highlight it to us :)
Some posts on here stifle any sort of reasonable debate. Because opinions differ, doesn’t mean they are wrong, just seen from a different perspective.
People who feel sorry for the poor unfortunates should do something about it. Don’t expect others to do it for them. Get them to mow your lawn perhaps and give them lunch. Just don’t give them the wherewithal to purchase drugs & booze.
Families shouldn’t need to feel intimidated taking children to parks & other open spaces or into town for that matter.
Some of what I have seen on this thread I find disturbing.

We are talking here about a vulnerable group in society, many with psychiatric illnesses who find themselves in a position that we all could were circumstances different. I have no doubt in my mind that none of these people want to be in the position they are in and many I am sure would be more than happy at the opportunity of employment, psychological intervention and accommodation. Alcoholism and drug addiction is an illness that has become a modern day epidemic that needs to be tackled a lot more.

The fault here lies with Government. Budgets for mental health support and drug and alcohol intervention continue to be slashed. When I see people congregating in this way I find it upsetting – not because the people disturb me by their behaviour but because it shows we have failed as a society to protect the unfortunate.

If we want to do something about the situation then get involved with the projects that aim to help. For example the “Feeding the Roofless” project, the homeless shelter in Holt Road (which does fantastic work but with extremely limited number of beds) and also the work of the Salvation Army locally and nationally.

Moving these people somewhere else doesn’t fix the problem. Are we really that apathetic to accept the solution to the problem as moving these people to somewhere we can’t see then ?
Fair enough, but what about the people they are intimidating and frightening going about their normal business, or maybe move them to outside your abode :(

Does anyone know what they are being given from the house on Grosvener Road by the Lemon tree ? soon they will need extra policing to control the crowds around that area that are growing by the day !!!

It seems from what I can see that the problem is getting worse all the time, judging by the pile that were in the Army recruiting office doorway, the front of the guildhall, and congregating on virtually every seat along the way towards cafe nero, very intimidating walking along there this morning about 9 – 30 ish.

    can’t anything be done ???

Katia and FWarp points are both correct with car parking charges, as a regular visitor over the years I also thought the same about the Barmouth observation, although I have to say that knowing Barmouth pretty well I still know where to park for free !
Im all for recycling but Wrexham Council where are we supposed to keep these boxes??? we dont want more, the 1 we have already is good enough. SO now 3 boxes will be blowing round the garden & street instead of just 1.

Three boxes stacked on top of each other and placed in a trolley, The wheelie box system involves putting paper and card in the top box, plastic bottles and mixed cans in the middle and glass bottles, jars and corrugated cardboard in the bottom.

I guess the Council have done a “Time & Motion” exercise & found out the refuse collectors work faster this way. BUT WILL THE Refuse collectors put the Boxers back on the trolley or as the ALWAYS DO now just through then back towards the property.
Some very valid points here, but I expect our Council have already thought and considered all your points, ummm maybe :)
The rather innocuous thread started by saddo has degenerated over 4 pages to a point where it seems that certain regular contributors have entered into a contest to see who can come up with the most absurd observation.

If those opinions are discounted or at the very least, put to one side, the consensus of opinion of those that have attempted to make pertinent observation, is that littering and dog fouling is not acceptable. It has also become clear that public opinion is that WCBC have taken the sledgehammer approach to solve a situation that has quite rightly, alienated much of the general public.
As has been stated previously, only easy targets are vulnerable during daytime hours when resources are at their maximum, but during the hours of the nighttime economy, the ‘enforcers’ are safely tucked up at home in bed. It would seem that no provision has been made for flexible working.
A rethink of the approach after only 6 weeks is long overdue, but knowing WCBC as we all do, the last thing that is likely to happen is that we get an admission that we got things wrong, yet again.
Maybe it is a sledgehammer approach, but other approaches over many many years to curb the problem have all failed, and despite the majority on here objecting to the enforcement, many people will agree with it, which of course is now the way of many authorities up and down the country because of the failure of previous initiatives.

The one thing I would agree with is that the enforcement officers should also work shifts, as they do in many other areas, they would have a beano on a Friday and Saturday night in the town, and in the parks with dog owners at night :)
