Oh good, I assume you have reading back some of your own posts then. Try not to take things to heart, chill, relax, it’s less stressful :-)

yes large scale stuff. You only have to take a look at your bin day stickers to see that it’s 300 dpi printing and perfectly aligned to see that’s industry standard design software rather than microsoft pub. So either a mac or designed by an outside agency.

when i sais provide examples, i meant an actual example, proper hard documental evidence. Otherwise it has to be classed as only hear’say.

I was agreeing with your points Wayne :-) Not sure if the second para was aimed at me to answer though.

You obviously haven’t encountered some of the idiots in wrexham. I lost another wing mirror the week before it was closed thanks to a white renault builders van flying under the bridge at 30 mph. I’ve yet to repair the damage to the paintwork.

Put your glasses on- it said a friends car was written off. It was caused some old codger driving down the centre of the road when she came around the blind part of the bend. She braked and swerved catching the wall down the side of her car- as she was a student at yale at the time- the age of the car and amount of damage caused mean’t the car had to be written off.

Its high and mighty attitudes like yours that causes problems on the road- maybe your ability to park a car is the problem if you lose wing mirrors.

I have been driving in Wrexham for many years and agree there are many idiots on the road, however I have never had a problem driving under that bridge.

Sorry if I mis-read the message as to whose car was damaged, but my thoughts are the same. Sounds like poor driving by both drivers in this case.

I am perfectly capable of parking my car thank you, however maybe some people are not capable of passing a correctly parked car without hitting it. That was my point all along. We cannot make every road wide enough to stop things like this happening. Common sense should prevail.

As for me being “high and mighty”, I think I will leave others to decide, thanks.

Examples- I used to do it for them. They got rid of the so called marketing/ design post to save money so the literature never got updated. Then when I was given the job of updating it as an IT person. When I left the secrataries were given the job. We had a big laserjet 8050 which cost around just £1500 to put cartridges in!

I would assume Wayne is talking about the large scale printing that all councils provide for public consumption, not in-house literature. This would have to be printed commercially as using a laser printer would be extremely inefficient and also very expensive.

It is true that some council departments use secretaries etc to design stuff for publication. This is not cost effective as they are not familiar with commercial design software and the “designs” often have to be re-originated by commercial print-houses (at extra cost) prior to publication. This also begs the question of who is doing the secretary’s work while they are trying to come up with design ideas etc.

Time to start buying spare wing mirrors again!

Silly statement. I have driven that way many, many thousands of times, at all times of day and night. I have never had a wing mirror damaged!

I have however lost 2 wing mirrors on separate occasions whilst parked legally at the side of roads in Wrexham. Should they be considered for one-way systems? I think not.

Regarding you having a car written off when driving through the tunnel, I would be interested in more details, as a write off does not usually occur at the sort of speeds that traffic passes through there. It would suggest that whoever hit you was driving at way above a sensible speed for the road conditions, and therefore could have caused the accident anywhere.

They are actually orange and yellow. They do look like police vehicles at night. They are driven by “security” staff who patrol around the various industrial estates etc. They have been in Wrexham for a couple of years now.

They do occasionally have kittens, maybe they can keep your details on file and let you know.

Do you really need to have kittens though? They will only be kittens for a short while :-)

We had a couple of youngish cats from there about 5 years ago. They have been the best behaved cats we have ever had.

Sorry, but if anyone’s stupid enough to fall for this, or any other scam, they deserve to lose thier money.

I agree with some others who say that this is a bit harsh. I have a 92 year old aunt. She comes from a time when things like this did not happen. She is a trusting person who likes to think the world is a better place than it can be sometimes.

She frequently receives genuine letters offering things like broadband etc and she thinks they are bills. I have to carefully go through her mail to explain what is what. She is also very generous towards charities and could quite easily be conned by a well written letter.

At least I am around to check out things for her, there are many vulnerable people in the world who are not so lucky.

I would suggest you do go to the cats protection. There are many cats needing homes and they do excellent work there.

Island Green parking signs have terms and conditions in tiny writing about 10 feet up in the air.
