The lines are a mobile “thing” on a desktop the lines are replaced by a top menu bar.

Forum side is not responsive so squished to fit all on screen and all overlaps.  On desktop version don’t like the background colour as everything blends into one and hard to distinguish between posts (on my screen anyway.)

Not working too well on mobile (Android), forum is all squished.  Main site is just a row of photos. Original site was better bizarrely, I could pick what I wanted and zoom.

The council have always been reluctant to involve themselves in Pest Control on private properties, and when they do they have charged for their services. Does anyone know if council tenants pay for pest control?

Just had a look on council website, rats and mice treatment is free for tenants but everything else is chargeable at a discounted rate Pest Control Services & Charges – WCBC

My car needed 2 new tyres so I went online and booked Kwikfit Mobile. You pay in advance and the fitting is free if you order 2 or more tyres. The guy who came out was very pleasant and the job was done within 20 minutes, he does carry out a safety check on all 4 tyres but didn’t try to sell me anything. Will definitely be doing that when needed in future, so much easier than going to the garage.

From a policing perspective from 5 January 2015 2 officers from each patrol rota have been specifically assigned to Caia. That means that unless there is a dire emergency elsewhere they will remain on Caia for the whole of their shift. Additionally we have appointed a high quality community beat manager who problem solves repeat issues. With regard to the youths, we know there are a hardcore of about 16 who cause the most problems there. We are quite openly targeting these youths, 5 have been arrested since January 5th and placed on strict curfews which means they have to be indoors at a specified address from 7pm – 7 am and we check that they comply with that condition. One didn’t and has now been remanded to prison.

From a joint perspective Hugh and I are at the front of setting up a harm reduction unit which sees Council and Police officers working from the same office to provide a more effective and speedy response to issues when they arise.

We also have the multi agency anti social behaviour tasking group which meets monthly and discusses key individuals. From this forum we are working hard to implement the new anti social behaviour legislation which is victim focused. We also work closely with tenancy enforcement which essentially puts at risk a council tenants occupancy of their home should they or their children indulge in anti social behaviour or criminality.

There is much going on, but much more will be done! Caia is a priority area for both organisations.

This is clearly not working! Heard from officer that the youths that stole our car, despite being identified are getting away scot free as there is not enough evidence to take the case to court. One reason for this apparently is the delay of 5 days from the offence being committed and them being arrested resulting in loss of forensics! They had one in for breaking his curfew the next day so shouldn’t this have been dealt with then?

Apologies for snipping your post, I wish to comment specifically on this. Some youths were on such a curfew yet still managed to steal our car, they are still out and about harrassing us on an almost daily basis. To Paraphrase what I was told by an officer basically Police Bail is not worth the paper it is written on.

Does anyone know what happened to all the white dog poo that used to be about?

It’s down to what the dogs are being fed apparently, feeding dogs raw bones causes the white poo. That and the fact responsible owners should pick it up so you wouldn’t see it anyway :D

What is being or can be done to stop the group of youths currently creating havoc around Caia Park? The police are more than aware of who they are, yet they continue to make peoples lives a misery walking around like wannabe gangsters, stealing cars and committing burglaries as and when they like.

Perhaps you should build the new Police HQ on the green in middle of Montrose Gardens, save a fortune on fuel ;)

My partner has worked there for 10 years, I guess it depends what department you are planning to work in.

Where exactly does Queensway 1 cover?

What is the criteria used here for deprivation?

As a resident of Caia, I see a lot of things. Yes, there is a problem with drink and drugs, just as there is in all other areas of Wrexham, including the more affluent.

Yes, there is unemployment, again same problem everywhere. Of course, there are those who have no intention of looking for work.

Child poverty? There may be a few cases but not enough to class the entire area as deprived, unless deprived means not being able to have the latest designer gear as soon as it hits the shelves or the largest TV available.

As for the millions allegedly spent on the area, I haven’t got a clue.
