Surely as the funding pots in question are non-public you need to take it up with the relevant organisations in question?

The Diocese of St Asaph deals with Church of Wales stuff and even as a staunch atheist I think they can do what they please with the monies in question.

Likewise Cats Protection Adoption Centre deals with homeless and abandoned cats and is primarily funded by white haired old dears who love nothing more than cats. Ask them to start funding ‘common street urchins’ and you watch the donations quickly dry up.

How do we even define a vanity project in this day and age? Is the £2.5m funding secured to move Techniquest to TJ Hughes a vanity project?

Don’t even get me started on Ty Pawb.

If we were to just spend all these allocated millions on the properties in question to convert them to homeless shelters – then there’d be 4 large shelters/soup kitchens or rehab centres. This wouldn’t eliminate the homeless problem it would mean the facilities in question would just attract more homeless from farther afield.

You can just imagine the Chester powers that be shipping them all off on a bus to town – they do that already.

The reason that there are so many homeless sustained in Wrexham is because the facilities on offer – particularly relating to drug rehabilitation are the best in North Wales.

So you can weigh it up more cats and god botherers in town or more homeless.

I’ve argued on both sides of the fence relating to homelessness in the past. I think the organisations in question are doing the best they can considering difficult circumstances but that are still individuals on the street who won’t accept the right type of help because they’d rather just get high.

Seeing as the majority of important emails to the council require very specific responses from specific departments or people. I’m not sure what a chat bot will do other than be a glorified FAQ of information you can already find on the departmental pages.

Like I don’t think Chat Bot would like FOIs.
MY girlfriend actually got stopped for speeding on this stretch of road she was doing 56mph with cars passing her doing 70 mph,as she did not want to make matters worse she did not mention this to the policeman,he was not to pleased when she did not stop straight away because there is not a lay-by until much further down the road,he asked her why did you not stop straight away and did you not see my lights flashing you.She just told him she was not going to park on the side of the road and cause a accident.A warning was given
My guess is that she only got a warning because she was not doing a ticketable (in guiding principle) speed. In order for that to be the case in a 50mph stretch she’d have had to have been doing 57mph – which is the usual speed limit + 10% + a tolerance of 2mph – so 50 + 5 + 2. So the warning would have been part of their education on speeding – although it is beyond me why someone doing a much lower speed than those going past was targeted when they could have ticketed one of the 70mph drivers and earned a fine.

It’s those individuals who can’t make a good cuppa and a bacon sarnie you ought to be suspicious of.

Builders tea and crispy bacon please.

All hail the new Prime Minister. Hunt is Johnson’s stooge – so the entire competition was illusory.

To treat a questionable environmentally based speed limit as this the same as a safety issue and fine people £100 plus three points or even inviting them to attend an “envioronment awareness” course (one would be invented if needed) would be a travesty and would bring the Police and scamera vans into even greater disrepute than they already are and, i suspect, something the Police would realise and not want a part in.
The greater farce will be when they catch someone doing 60 and attempt to fine them and they’re in an electric car so they are producing 0 emissions on that stretch.

As well as there being very little evidence to show that is helps reduce pollution. There is also the fact that our esteemed AM has admitted that the police are not even enforcing the speed limit like they would elsewhere. Which means that people are viewing the 50mph as an optional activity.

What sort of legislative powers or clout does the WAG if they put all the right speed limit signs up that drivers are required BY LAW to follow but even the police and highways enforcement officers aren’t pulling people for speeding in the zone. You couldn’t make it up.

I believe it’s the more people who complain about a pothole before something gets done about it. My guess is that any damage claims made against potholes would also fast track the road getting fixed as it would mean it would be costing the council money.

However, since Cllr Pritchard has negotiated a 20 minute “free” period will that be also be offered at WCBC car parks?
Does anyone know how strictly enforcement is carried out on the council ran car parks? I assume those are still patrolled by parking wardens rather than automated ANPR systems?

In terms of what you said about car park revenues being part of the revenue streams. These will obviously be crucial to the running of the car parks but there’s a growing concern where companies are now deliberately gearing their revenue streams to be heavily supplemented by issuing fines rather than taking in more income from normal parking fees. A fine should be there as a deterrent and not a money maker.

Because when fining within a town centre becomes the norm and a zero tolerance approach – like with Kingdom – it becomes a harmful business model which deters customers coming into town and harms other local businesses.

Another point of amusement is that I’ve been on the Boycott Island Green Car Park Facebook Group with over 5,400 members.

It is a complete farce – everyone just angrily shouts at each other and people just give out incorrect information about dealing with private parking invoices.

The only harm they will be causing by boycotting the car park and advocating people don’t go there is harming the shops based there and by proxy the town centre’s central business district in general.

There is also widespread propaganda with people posting pictures of the car park during quiet periods saying nobody is ever there when most people who park up there know full well it gets busy during peak periods.

They are also stating about how nobody is in any of the shops – again this would probably be indicative of quiet periods rather than the idea of a mass boycott.

I’ve got nothing against mass organised action and has proven well in the past if organised and with leadership – like North Wales Against Kingdom Security or Save Plas Madoc Group. But this is just a bunch of headless chickens actually out to harm the entire town rather than do any good.
