Meanwhile Big Donny Sturgeon Head Honcho of the Wrexham Tories is rattling his oversized coin box to raise coffers to get the Anti-Andrew – Sarah Atherton – ahead of the somewhat sooner than later expected General Election?

Put under the guise of ‘health and safety’. Couldn’t make it up. I think the cheeky beggars best do some good for the town and light a rocket up Glyndwr’s backside over the Dean Road playing field debacle to make up for it.

Don’t loads of the houses have gardens that have gates directly going onto the field? Glyndwr have opened up a massive can of worms.

This very much sounds like a safeguarding issue and as some specific details regarding a child under protection have been revealed (no matter how small) – could put the child at risk.

The issue really should be dealt with through the appropriate legal and official complaint channels – rather than a public discussion forum.

I can completely understand your frustration but these safeguards are put in place for a reason.

Who’s going to succeed? We’re not really given much choice! I’d rather have someone who doesn’t slag our town off just to raise their profile. Wrexham may have it’s problems but there’s a lot going for it and people constantly complaining about it won’t help. PROUD OF WHERE I LIVE!!!!
Spot on!

Sounds ambitious – but the completely daft thing is that they are never intelligent enough to listen to the concerns, complaints and feedback of the local population. There is big talk of new housing, employment opportunities and renewable energy – these definitely tick positive boxes.

However, not once is anything mentioned about infrastructure.

How is a need going to be met for new healthcare provision, e.g. GPs and hospital expansion?

How are they going to going to build and expand and improve the overall quality of the local schooling system to meet this new influx of children?

How are the road, rail and public transport systems going to see a complete revamp (not just pie in the sky gesturing) to deal with the current strain on demand and deal with any increase in population growth? – now it’s looking to be supporting over the next 50 years.

I’m sure if asked – someone at the WAG will bluster their way through these concerns but these are issues that need to be dealt with first and foremost as part of any future development blueprint rather than an afterthought.

Why should people want to come and live (or not move away) from an uncontrolled urban sprawl expansion of Wrexham and Deeside if they are not planning to invest hundreds of millions in public service provision to make it a more attractive place to live.

Equally I’d say in importance is that it’s not sufficient enough to just SLAP a new green belt with very little thought around a bloated area when our rural areas and communities are so important to the existing character of the area and for tourism.

Are they expecting to start building on top of everywhere so that the World Heritage site area and right up to Llangollen gets turned into a huge housing estate with massive solar arrays and wind farms taking up the remaining green space? Exaggerated concern here but you get the idea.

I’m pro affordable housing and renewable energy and would like to see more of it – but we have some of the most beautiful and iconic unspoiled countryside areas in the World in North Wales – to blight it without careful consideration would be a travesty. I just feel like the powers that be in Cardiff haven’t fully thought this through yet.

The whole spiel raises more problems than solutions as it stands.
The media is awash this week with the threat 9f global warming, from red meat to burning tundra.
Is it time for Wales to become a world leader in reversing climate change and institute a 50mph speed limit right across Wales?
Reduced emissions.
Reduced fuel bills.
Reduced accidents.
No that would be stupid. Can you imagine the hit to trade and tourism if you stunted the M4 and A55 to 50mph. It’s hard enough to get anywhere from A to B as it is in this mountainous country full of mainly back roads.

Enough accidents happen at 50mph and less anyway on some of these other A roads. Also congestion from increased load on the roads would wipe out any emission reduction savings by lowering the speed limit.

Plus I don’t think anyone would be delighted about a pittance in fuel bill savings when instead they have to take an extra 20-30 minutes of commute time to get to and from work.

I’m all for saving the planet but there’s very little our small and largely inoffensive to the environment country can do if China, India and the USA continue to pollute at the rates they do with no curbs whatsoever.

The UK as a whole will eventually move to a more eco friendly model in 20-30 years with more renewable energy etc… and a decent electric car infrastructure. We’ll do our bit but it will mean jack in the grand scheme of things if these other large scale polluters refuse to do anything because the industrial lobbies run the countries.

Isn’t the main way to design out crime in an area to actually remove the criminals themselves?

Or were they suggesting that certain features of the town make ordinary everyday folks resort in a massive crime spree?

As if people have been coming across rocket launchers just lying about Grand Theft Auto style and gone on a rampage.

Police on the actual streets is the only way to get rid of the persistent set of nuisances.

Barnett formula means if England is getting £1.8bn Wales will automatically get about £106m.

Surely even the English should feel swindled though as didn’t that Brexit bus promise an extra £350m per week for the NHS? Like ongoing forever.

£1.8bn equates to a paltry 5 weeks of money at that rate. Sham all round.
