Just read about the softer reboot of Looney Tunes, will they also be removing Wile E Coyote’s impressive arsenal of Acme missiles, TNT and anvils?

Votethecouncillorsout so someone has started threatening precious statues of your favourite figures from history and you go and show your full hand Royal Flush of just how disgusting and racist you are with that comment.

Have you not thought for a second how many people actually read this forum and don’t necessarily post, or even the ethnicities of the people who do contribute? Or their families?

Talking about black people in that way or anyone for that matter in 2020 is pathetic and only a complete loser who hides behind anonymity would be “brave” enough to post it.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Come on Councillor ;) Old Man is a positive in this instance. How weak and insignificant does his son Young Man Spoons sound in comparison? Sounds like a bit of an idle fiddler by all accounts. Much rather hear about the life stories and misadventures of old man spoons.

The Old Man and the Sea, This Old Man, Old Man River – legends in their own right.

And herein we widely return back to the basic tenets of socialism which the likes of myself and Tim have been harping on about for the past – seems like forever. Equality and fairness and access to a decent life for the 99% of the world and not just the top 1%.

    Welcome new converts.

Billy – the Justine Diamond case was a horrible event and is another failure in the Minneapolis Police Department and is precisely why they have now voted to dismantle this failed PD and rebuild a justice and community policing system from the ground up.

Again, you could refer to police kills person X of race Y to any killer cop incident and ask why there wasn’t global outrage and widespread protests in the past? Perhaps now it’s happened that’s a good thing, a light has been shone on it and hopefully (but I won’t hold my breath) there will be steps taken to ensure police brutality of any kind on any human being is stopped.

The pub sign is well known local controversy and I’ll admit, originally the posting was a bit flippant because I thought it would be amusing if something did come up about it amongst all this. Of course as things happen – it did. I’ve posted a whole topic about it so feel free to contribute.

Was apparently “helping” to clean off the graffiti from the Churchill statue today in London.

Which we later find meant she was just there for a photo opportunity and there was actually someone else doing the cleaning.

I’d ask her what she thinks about Churchill’s record in Wales with the Tonypandy riots, but of course she’s disabled replies on her tweets as standard.

Billy, I suppose you think you’ve proven a point because you found 2 black people who don’t agree with Black Lives Matter. How absurd is that? Of course there’s going to be, why wouldn’t they be free to hold this opinion?

However, perhaps you’d like to take a step back and look at the overwhelming number of voices who do agree with the movement of every race across the entire world. I don’t know why you needed to use the Hodge Twins to get confirmation bias when you could have used Tommy Robinson, Katie Hopkins or Nigel Farage.

Nobody is saying you are racist, but it’s funny how those who typically offer bigoted views about the world are the ones who are getting offended and complaining about the current state of affairs. One would assume then that it was more enjoyable when police were able to brutalise those of other ethnicities and get away with it and when we could all admire statues of slavers.

The rest of the world who are tolerant and horrified by what happened to George Floyd are trying to offer support and solidarity in any way possible and trying to come together and think how we can make the world a better and more inclusive and safer place for everyone.

Of course as you’re more interested in shouting out about hard left, I doubt you’ll listen. Awfully funny how those who despise anyone left leaning NEVER complain about the actions of the far right. I expect those activities are entirely agreeable.

May as well signal how Wrexham feels about it all then and whack up the old Elihu Yale pub sign.

At the end of the day you’re still going round telling everyone how they should live their lives, as if everything is going so perfectly in yours.

This thread has become a bit of a horrible shower hasn’t it.

Parent shaming, fat shaming, drinker shaming, a dab of class shaming – implications that only lower class people go to McDonald’s and Wetherspoons.

My commentary was on the absurdity that just because McDonald’s had reopened, everyone felt compelled to go as soon ASAP despite the fact that the queues would be tedious and the end experience wouldn’t even be as good as usual even compared with their limited standards.

Perhaps a more normal reaction would be to just stop there next time you passed it. I for one hate queueing for anything and actively avoid it.

Since when did everyone become so high and mighty that everything is too good for them and that basic staples of life are suddenly intolerable activities and people who indulge in these activities are addicts or bad people?

I guarantee anyone feeling holier than thou because they’ve slightly been able to clean up their act during lockdown because there’s been nothing to do, those good habits will soon slide as soon as everything is back up and running and normal, vices will start slipping in. That’s just human nature.
