Surely they could be given a pass that allows free parking at the appropiate time? There are enough car parks in walking distance.

I have never considered myself affiliated to any particular political party and have voted Labour, Lib Dem and Conservative in the past and up until last week my vote this year was definitely Conservative, however after watching how the Conservative campaign seems purely based on how bad it will be if Labour get into power and no real positives if Conservatives win I am now in the position of being undecided and this with only a week to go. None of the political parties have filled me with any confidence that they have a plan to go forward over the next five years, Labour I fear will just burden us with debt by trying to achieve potentially unrealistic goals, Conservative seem to be focusing on Brexit and ignoring all the other issues we have in the country and Lib Dems just seem so detached from things that I cannot bring myself to consider them. Theresa May not taking part in the leaders debate has really swung my opinion from the Conservatives, and I feel now she is not strong enough to lead the country if she is not willing to stand alongside the other leaders to defend her and her parties ideas.

I can see where Owain is coming from in the time Ian Lucas has been our MP I have seen Wrexham go steadily downhill, and as a Wrexham lad it I don’t like to see the town on a downward spiral but I have seen nothing that shows me Ian Lucas will do anything to improve the town. Also I cannot bring myself to vote for Corbyn due to his views on Trident and I do not believe he would be good for our national security. Lib Dems seem to have no direction and Plaid never quite convince me they are the party for me. Will Andrew Atkinson be better? I don’t know so for me the question is do I potentially waste my vote or give Andrew a try? Decisions decisions.

As wrexview states turnout is normally low, which is a shame when you see that the Brexit vote turnout in Wrexham was 71%. The chance to cast your vote should not be thrown away by not using it. Enough people argue on all social media platforms about Conservative / Labour / UKIP / Plaid and so on but that needs to transfer to people actually casting votes. Irrespective of who finally wins in Wrexham if you have cast your vote you have spoken with your vote.

Hi Interested, it is difficult because until he is in either position ( if indeed he gets into either? ) it is an unknown as to how well he will do. This time he will get my vote and maybe in 5 years we will be discussing things like this all over again and we could both be ruing our decisions. At least it has generated discussion.
As you say it is at the ballot box ( or boxes ) that it will be decided and I hope whoever wins pushes for the best interests of their local ward if elected as Councilor and Wrexham as a whole if elected as MP.

I have spoken to Andrew Atkinson and found him to be both helpful and pleasant. He freely admits holding both positions is not sustainable long term but I think he deserves a chance Ian Lucas I do not feel has done anything for Wrexham so I feel a change may be the best thing and I feel Andrew would fight to get businesses back to Wrexham.
The most important thing though is to use your vote whoever you vote for.

Turnout for the brexit vote was 71% in Wrexham, it would be great to see that figure again for the General Elction and local Election.

Irrespective of how people will vote I only hope people will use their vote.

To be fair to Mr Dodman he has at least taken the time to post an introduction, whether or not you think some of his ideas are good or bad.
