MadManParticipantColin Kaepernick an American football player kneeled as a protest during the national anthem years ago and was silenced and let go because of the military relationship with the NFL, it was deemed to be the worst thing you could possibly do. Its twisted that they make their sport so intertwined with military that its uncomfortable to watch. I have experienced it personally in Baseball. However, I get why you said that as without that aspect I would feel rather uncomfortable with that response. In Wrexham they kept their distance and had masks on and it was what you would deem more responsible in these times as we still need to have a voice and a movement as the United Kingdom still has a problem with racism and by that I mean vulgar comments I have heard over the years in past work places and out in public. We still celebrate slave owners through statues, pub names (like above), etc. Racism like Covid should not be used as a competition between countries, we need to recognise it and all our faults. I just hope all of you are quick to criticise those on busy beaches in England, those that buy cheap needless crap from Amazon in warehouses where the workers are not socially distanced and contribute to making Jeff Bezos the world’s first trillionaire instead of supporting small-medium businesses. What good are they doing.

MadManParticipantYou do realise that Ambulances use the roads too? (An example of the damage below). So let them mock its funny.. its what we are all thinking 😂
MadManParticipantI would love to know I am all for more transparency with these figures, if it is based on population and then population growth then we can see where they are coming from, but we need the data along with the article, these headline increases or headlines to say we got the lowest or the highest means nothing without transparency.
MadManParticipantYeah and that is incredibly sad that you think that a person that sent our men and women to death fighting regime change wars and spent millions and millions instead of looking after people back home had more of a chance in this election. What a world we live in.
MadManParticipantWhile even I didn’t like Blair’s Labour Government it can’t be said they caused the economic crash it is factually incorrect, did they play apart yes of course one being poor regulation of the financial industry (Conservatives don’t like regulations) and spending (i.e War). Labour played a part in destroying the NHS too, but Blair was not the leader in this election (Thank God).
MadManParticipantWhy anybody would vote for a party that offers them nothing is beyond me, I love not getting an appointment with my GP, I love not having a local library, I love not having a community, I love seeing homeless on the streets and increase in food bank attendance and stagnant wages. It also seems people love going to war (I see there has been a sudden love for Tony Blair in the UK and George Bush stateside in certain corners). I’ll agree that there were positives with Tony Blair, but to lead us into war and all that money spent on War was overshadowed by the media’s obsession with over-spending on the public sector, which shows where their priorities lie and so do where the country’s priorities lie.
MadManParticipantYou do realise this is the annual budget, there have been minuscule increases (like this) and they are right about the funding from Westminster, you could go on about timing, framing or how they spend the budget they have from Westminster, that is definitely up for debate. With Welsh Labour, it has a lot to do with the despicable management and poor planning for NHS Wales even during the Labour Government in Westminster with better spending increases in England and subsequently in Wales. They have a right to moan about funding as austerity is hurting the whole of the United Kingdom, we also have had local pressures with the building of the prison, without an increase to support our local needs. We should have made the Conservatives pay for their cruelty and we should have made Welsh Labour pay for their incompetence, instead, the country was too consumed by Brexit to realise, so the result for all the distraction was a Conservative Government without any benefit to the country.
MadManParticipantIt was a worldwide protest, so yes it does need to be a global effort, not sure anybody would disagree with that.
MadManParticipantThere needs to be drastic change, there are too many empty units in the main areas of the town centre for it to be a simple fix.
It will be nice to see more independent restaurants and indepedent retailers to be encouraged, though costs are currently too high for wide investment.
Many of the units need to be converted into housing, it is already happening, it is the only way to increase the footfall in the area to attract businesses.
Sports Direct would surely close at least one of their stores if they do ever open, so its not ideal by any means. There doesn’t seem to be much actvity in Eagles Meadow not even a whisper of interest in their available units, so Sports Direct leaving would be a huge worry for them.
MadManParticipantI think their focus should be on the quality of their course content and the quality of their lecturers, they are obviously not favoured by the students that attend this University. They seem insistent on hurting their reputation and our town. We need to encourage use of green spaces for a happy and healthy community, about time they become a respected member of the community.
