I’m part of said generation and interested in politics to the point of being an anorak, but must say the choice of two candidates in my ward is very uninspiring.

[quote quote=129159]Nailing my colours to the mast.

I hope for the following result
    Labour 18
    Independents ( Pritchards group) 11
    Independent (Bithells group) 8
    Conservatives 5
    Lib Dems 5
    Plaid 4

Hopefully we have a Labour, Lib Dem, Plaid coalition with Councillor Dana Davies leading. Just like the way she challenges.

Why? Because I see this as an alternative to the current administration and watching the webcasts it seems to me that the Labour lot are the only ones questioning and challenging. Will Mark Pritchard earn his seat this time, will those Councillors who left the Labour lot over Splash Magic earn the wrath of the electorate? Will the turn out be low? Soo many variables…..but its exiting.

I can’t see the cause for enthusiasm in the Labour Group. It’s all a big soap opera, Indys are now carrying the can for decisions they used to oppose and ditto Labour opposing decisions they would have enacted themselves about two years ago. Makes you wonder where the real power lies in local authorities.

I was looking at the Gwenfro ward, a strong Labour area presently represented by Cll Neil Rogers a Labour elected turned Independent.
I cannot see him retaining that ward as an Independent.

I say we all go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.

Did it slow down exponentially since you left the ruling administration just two and a half years ago?

Liam – I did not leave anything and good steadfast for the manifesto I was elected on .It was 10 others ( subsequently 1 more ) who joined the Independent group and have not felt the need to test their ” new faith” with their electors since September 2014. So you are quite right this Tory- Independent administration is based on a non- democratic deficit and it shows!

After you’ve stepped down, people will spot you ambling down the streets of Gresford and declare: ‘Say what you like about Andrew Bailey, but at least he made the road painters run on time!’

It’s alright this politics lark, in what other professions can you set your own pay? Love the halfhearted excuses for voting not to cut their own pay. ‘We have a lot of work to do’. Yes, you and the rest of us too.

Paul and Simon, why the shocking choice of mugs? No Wrexham AFC?
