jimbowParticipant
What is it with the council and anything remotely technical?
Isn’t there anyone working for the council that can look into these things without bringing in external contractors.
It comes across to me there is nobody in the Council capable of looking after ratepayers interests. They get these jobs for life and expect to do little for it. The problems lie at the top and it is hard to change the situation.
jimbowParticipant
Whilst I see what you are saying jimbow, not all County Councillors are employed elsewhere. Only a large multinational company could afford to pay someone to take so much time off to attend meetings.
Of the 10 members of the last Executive Board only 4 of the 10 made pension contributions. I applaud the 6 who did not.
jimbowParticipant
Everyone has a right to a pension we can’t go back to the days where people weren’t offered one.
I agree. I am talking about a pension on a second income. Take a look at the list of Councilors paying into the pension fund. Ex retired council officials on a government pension, now seeking further pension from being a councillor.
jimbowParticipantIf you think that spending ratepayers money in this way and then having to cut services in order to make ends meet is negative, then so be it.
jimbowParticipant
Jimbow iv got to ask are you for real? I’m not an admirer of councillors am’s or mp’s but someone’s got to do it, your comments take the biscuit what next I wonder are you going to comment about people who work for the NHS Police and Fire Brigade that have a pension.
Yes I am for real. Why should ratepayers be asked to contribute to what is a second income. I have no problem with a pension for anybody else. Read the thread properly.November 25, 2017 at 6:21 pm in reply to: Welsh nationalists Plaid Cymru who are the kidding #140950
jimbowParticipantMike Davies would come as bubble.

jimbowParticipantWhy have Plaid not done it before now?. They have had enough reps on the Council in years gone by.
jimbowParticipantsuethecat,
If what you say is correct and I have no reason to think otherwise, this is a disgrace. An enquiry should be held and those in higher authority taken to task.
jimbowParticipantPrior to Cllr. Wynne being elected to the Executive Board he was very often before the camera asking questions at Executive Board meetings. Now as a Lead Member for Education he does not ask questions on any reports coming before the Executive.
One of the problems I believe is, the difference in pay between a councillor and a lead member. The gap is too wide, Executive Board Lead Members pay should be set at a maximum of £21k. It is hard to give up the high salary, hence keep stum and follow the leader and keep your job.
jimbowParticipant
Jimbow – have you not noticed that Cllr Phil Wynne has been noticeable in his absence on this Forum since being elevated to the illustrious heights on the Executive Board.
Yes I have. I was hoping that my post would stimulate a response. Here’s hoping. -
