I’m too young to remember the old markets and other places of interest in Wrexham. I have looked at old historic photographs of Wrexham, however, and cannot believe some of the places that were knocked down. The town used to have character and a lot of the older buildings would have encouraged people to visit now.

Some photographs that stand out are the area around where the Council offices and tourist information buildings and the old BHS store are now. The older buildings there were stunning.

Bubble, you’re right, winning a competition prize you have to pay for yourself is really strange. Jokes aside, I hope the lad goes and enjoys himself but having to raise the cash yourself for it is out of order.

The total cost of attending this event according to official pages would be £3495 which includes all meals, flights , accommodation and trips. Less than the price of a family holiday to Spain in August in most cases so I’m pretty sure his own family could club together and fund this themselves.

Great if people want to support this but there are more worthy causes out there for me I’m afaid.

I can perfectly understand why some people would rather donate to an animal charity rather than support human beings. As a species we are not exactly that nice at times!

He is not taking into consideration what the majority of Wrexham voted for. I’m pretty sure all this mess is being cleverly constructed to make sure we never Brexit!

If the result had been to stay the remainers would have been up in arms if those wanting Brexit had asked for another vote!

Just leave and get on with it!

I did say ” I have seen him parking in a disabled space with badge , am I right in assuming he claims pip?”

I work with people who cannot walk or cope very well with life who are turned down for pip regularly for it but win it on appeal.

My only point was that if he is able to do these things then surely he does not qualify. Because he is a ” war hero” that makes it alright?

Seeing as I on a roll, I don’t subscribe to calling soldiers heroes either. I am fed up of us glorifying war and violence.

Okay, I am going to sound bad but….
I have seen all the wonderful work Shaun does and despite his injuries he is actually very physically abled. I know he has false legs and I have seen him parking in disabled with badge. Am I right in assuming he must be getting Pip? Because if so… how????
The rules state not being able to walk 20 metres and yet this guy climbs mountains, treks though deserts.

I have seen many people I work with being refused pip despite not being able to do a quarter of what this young lad does.

How do you know they were sent home by Triage and not just decided to go? Lots go home after being told how long the wait is.

My neighbour only stubbed her toe but wasn’t sent home by triage and that was despite it only needing a splint had it been actually been fractured ( it was just bruised )

“We don’t know, as we don’t have the facts, but triage must have decided that it was concerning enough that it needed to be checked out”

Do Triage actually send anyone home though? I don’t know if they do as they would have worries about being sued in the future?
It would be interesting for someone (wrexham.com?) to do a FOI request: How many times has Wrexham A&E Triage refused to allow someone to see a Dr as in their opinion medical input is not necessary?
