Would love to see..
Dana Davies as Leader but won’t happen. It will be the same failed administration. Probably see Mike Davies the so called Independent aligning with Plaid…as this was what he stood before. Mark Pritchard will do anything to maintain his salaries.
If David Bithell had anything about him he would align with Labour and the rest…but won’t happen. An alliance with Mark Pritchard is just not good. So it will remain the same. But you live in…hope
Looking at the Leaders of each group/party who impressed
Mark Pritchard……no response
David Bithell…….no ideas, but confident he will be re-elected
Lib Dems…………Aled Roberts..considering his experience felt his responses were poor.
Conservatives…….Lord Kenyon or is it Hugh Jones either way didn’t get too taken with them.
Plaid…………….Carrie Harper or Marc Jones….Ok nothing stood out.
Dana Davies Labour….Clear ideas, financial acumen etc.On some of the Independents (those ex Labour) probably found the question on calling for a by election a major put off. Hence why they haven’t responded to the questions. New candidates probably felt out of their depth and thought…I won’t bother making myself look silly or inexperienced.
I think all that have engaged should be congratulated especially those answering the questions. Well done Wrexham.com, excellent questions. I was impressed with Dana Davies’s responses. I also liked the attempts by some of the younger candidates…good effort. Labour responded very well, I was also impressed by a couple of Lib Dems.
If Independent meant Independent then I could live with that. It muddies the waters and deceives the public when they join a group. But…on the other side with the current system can an Independent be properly Independent and be effective?? If votes were taken at Full Council by all councillors then it could work.
I do think the Penycae councillor has served his ward well and out of those standing he clearly deserves the votes. I disagree with the other though. Time for a change there I think. Just think her performance on the Executive board has been poor as have all the Independents. Hope for a change in administration please Wrexham.
I do want to wish all the candidates well though…not easy putting yourselves in the firing line.
I don’t think it’s that he’s not helpful or pleasant but it’s his clamour to be a full time politician at all costs. He stood in 2012 General Election and lost, stood for Assembly and lost and then decides to stand as a Councillor…outside his own ward by the way. The very baffling part is that the Conservatives have parachuted in someone from Penyffordd to stand in Llay?? So my take is that he’s weighed up the competition with Llay and thought…my best chance is Gresford.
So ok….he volunteers for anything that gets exposure, does that make him a good candidate? I understand that a few post discontent with Ian Lucas and ok…if people don’t want him then that will show at the ballot box. But please……not Andrew Atkinson. He Reminds me of Harry Enfields Tory boy.

Just looked up the previous election 2012 and noticed you stood for Plaid. Sorry Mike…understand your political leaning now. So you were Plaid but now…..Independent.
Sarcasm…it’s a great tool. Waiting with bated breath Mike. Interested to read whether you have your own ideas because you come across as a very confident person. Your background in the FBU I would imagine may shape your answers but we shall see. Great to see a guy responding and not being defensive.
