Just read the article and i just have to shake my head in dis-belief. How much difference is it going to make in reality i wonder. Not a lot i would guess. Travel at 70 and you are through quicker than at 50 so poluting more and engines are usually more efficient at higher RPM than lower.
Something that comes to mind reading all the flowery words about how public health and well being is paramount in their deliberations (yeah right) is that the Welsh Assembly and WCBC are proposing to build hundreds if not thousands of houses in and around our towns and villages which will bring more traffic movements and therefore polution of all kinds right to the place where we live. I live in a small village where there are plans in the LDP to develop an area for up to 40 houses the access to which is along a narrow road. What about the extra polution that the residents of that road are going to suffer? That doesn’t count though does it? The occupiers of those 40 houses will all have cars perhaps 2 or even 3 which will all be travelling every day in and out of the village causing polution, noise and traffic in a place that already suffers immensely from that. Do the WA or WCBC care? No they don’t, all the fine words are tossed to the wind when it comes to that, but yes, a lower speed limit on the bye-pass will do it, yep luvvly jubbly and bonus ball, we can have the go-safe cameras (aka. scamera vans) positioned nicely to take £1000’s in fines out of the errant motorist’s pockets; get points on their licences or even loads of them doing speed awareness courses which are a mega money spinner for the police and the company that runs them. We are truly, led by Donkeys.Just been reading this:

The whole thing is a mess, not fit for purpose and Kingdom not a fit organisation for the Wrexam people’s representatives to be mixed up with. We need shut of them asap.

It’s mad isn’t it? They are, to the people, about as welcome as a fart in a space suit but, does Bithell care? no, he doesn’t. All he does is, using spurious, dreamed up arguments defend the use of them, well he has to doesn’t he? He has been one of the main instigators of the regime Wrexham people find themselves living under now. It’s nasty, it’s unnecessary, it’s ineffective, it’s alienating and it’s wrong plus it’s taking money from the local economy and putting into Kingdom’s coffers, how stupid is that? It would appear we are led by donkeys and deaf and blind donkeys at that.
As mentioned briefly in the post by Matt, education is where it’s at with the littering/dog fouling problem.
Aggressive policing, issuing 75 quid FPN’s is never going to fix the problem as an “officer” has to be around when the carton, bottle, chip wrapper etc, etc is discarded or the dog owner leaves it’s dog’s mess where it is deposited which is highly unlikely, at least in any meaningful numbers.
A FPN handed to a dimp dropping smoker in Wrexham town centre is not going to stop the McDonalds fast food container from being lobbed out of a vehicle onto the roadside, neither is it going to stop the discarding of a plastic bottle by someone in one of the many areas in Wrexham that it’s just impossible to “police” and that applies to dog fouling too. Wanting to “fine” someone for littering, dog fouling et al is just a desire for revenge and does no real good in the wider context at all. If Kingdom were told to largely ignore ciggy butts and only concentrate on dog fouling, fly tipping and real littering i reckon they would kick the contract into touch post haste themselves as there would be no money in it due to the low numbers they would get. Education not fines is the key, imo.Reading the report of the meeting about Kingdom i found Cllr. Bithell’s utterences breathtaking as they seem to indicate he thinks we are all stupid.

Oh. perlease Mr. Bithell spare us! Because you are trying desperately to defend your position on Kingdom you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel of arguments to do so. I will tell you something now, if you were to just put your hands up, just for once, and admit you COULD be wrong and just say, right, this is broke and needs fixing, what are we going to do? you would garner a lot more respect from everybody. I will not be holding my breath.The March figures forced out of Kingdom once again, demonstrate that the easy targets have priority,surprise,surprise.
The council, through Kingdom, have launched another attack on the people of Wrexham with particular emphasis
on those that live in certain areas of the City. It’s not good enough we are watched by faceless people in front of CCTV screens or harassed by parking wardens we are now spied on and followed by the employees of Kingdom (and in effect WCBC) just praying we drop some litter or a ciggy butt so they can issue us with a “fine” which will serve to increase Kingdom’s profits and help that employee get a bigger “competency allowance” (bonus), disgraceful! As has been said, can we see any difference in the levels of dog fouling, discarded bottles or fast food packaging that tends to be strewn along our roadsides and streets? Certainly no difference in our village, but hey, there may be less ciggy butts in certain areas. On another note, i would wager that Kingdom’s profits are extracted from the very people that can least afford to pay 75 quid and that, quite largely, is down to Councillor Bithel’s approach to it all by not following DEFRA’s guidlines ie. give people a chance to pick the offending material (sensible option No:1) up instead, opting with an almost evangelical zeal for a “zero tolerance” (nonsense option No:1) approach for Kingdom’s employees issuing the “fines”; his continued (pathetic) defence of what is proving more and more to be the indefensible shames him and the councillors that support him. On the face of it we, the people of Wrexham, have another year of this attack to suffer as WCBC stupidly renewed the contract last April for two years, beyond belief! We need rid of this blight that is Kingdom that now, in a way, seems worse than that which they were brought in to eliminate and have failed so miserably to do![quote quote=144112]

In my experience of working with Tattooists (amongst other professions) over the last 20 years repairing and servicing the sterilising equipment they use i can tell you i have never come across one unlicensed practitioner as, the local authorities are hot on that kind of thing and that’s why Tattoists are amongst the best when it comes to taking responsibility for the health of their clients.Read the article, properly, have a think, and try again.

Even if they just did a Google spellcheck on the tattoo first. I don’t get it. They’re obviously very talented as they can draw amazing artwork on people’s skin.[/quote]

No it isn’t about unlicensed people doing it; that isn’t even metioned; it’s not just genitals either as tongues are mentioned. It’s about any Tattoist doing the work licensed or not.
In my experience of working with Tattooists (amongst other professions) over the last 20 years repairing and servicing the sterilising equipment they use i can tell you i have never come across one unlicensed practitioner as, the local authorities are hot on that kind of thing and that’s why Tattoists are amongst the best when it comes to taking responsibility for the health of their clients.Read the article, properly, have a think, and try again.

You can put all the boots on the ground you want, but if they are walking down blind alleys then numbers count for nothing. Smarter policing is the way forward. Good old fashioned boots on the ground are needed.
