Following my last message the Kingstone Press Championships Awards have been held in Leeds. I’m proud to say that North Wales Crusaders won 3 out of the 4 awards available for Championship 1.

Clive Griffiths unsurprisingly won Coach of the Year, Jono Smith won Player of the Year and North Wales Crusaders won Team of the Year. Andy Moulsdale was a nominee in the Player of the Year category and Tommy Johnson was nominated in the Young Player of the Year Category.

Congratulations to Clive and Jono and everyone involved with the Club – Directors, Coaching staff, support staff on field and off the field, grounds maintenance, volunteers, the Wheelchair Team, the community development and the supporters can all feel very proud of their achievement.

Thanks for the reply Rob. No conspiracy theory here; I just wanted to know why the League and Bowl double had been overlooked as a ‘headline’ piece.

By the way 5 of our players have been nominated in the Championship 1 All Star team of the season, Clive Griffiths has been nominated for coach of the season and Andy Moulsdale is in line for Championship 1 Player of the Year.

I never did get a reply to my comment on why Wrexham.com didn’t cover the sporting success of the North Wales Crusaders. Any comment Rob?

I am deliberately bumping this thread up the forum until I get an answer from Wrexham.com as the why they haven’t covered the story of north Wales Crusaders winning the Championship 1 league and Northern Rail bowl double, finishing the season Champions with 1005 home record and only 2 losses in the league all season.

It would make a nice change for a good news and sporting success story.
