Fugazi3973ParticipantYou’d be assuming incorrectly. They will be enforceable.
Fugazi3973Participant
Quick maths question
If 3500 cars averaged 29mph but 90% drove at 50mph what would be the average speed of the remaining 10% ?
3500 x 29 = 101,500
90% of those cars (3150) x 50 = 157,500……Hmmmmmm the remaining 10% (350) of those cars have travelled at NEGATIVE speed – so New Broughton is stuck in some form of warped time/space continuum.

2. On pavements (38 to 40)

Pavements are safer than roads and should be used when available. You should give pedestrians priority and show consideration for other pavement users, particularly those with a hearing or visual impairment who may not be aware that you are there.39
Powered wheelchairs and scooters MUST NOT travel faster than 4 mph (6 km/h) on pavements or in pedestrian areas. You may need to reduce your speed to adjust to other pavement users who may not be able to move out of your way quickly enough or where the pavement is too narrow.
Law UICHR 1988 reg 440
When moving off the pavement onto the road, you should take special care. Before moving off, always look round and make sure it’s safe to join the traffic. Always try to use dropped kerbs when moving off the pavement, even if this means travelling further to locate one. If you have to climb or descend a kerb, always approach it at right angles and don’t try to negotiate a kerb higher than the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.
Fugazi3973ParticipantI was once hit by a cyclist on a pavement. I fell, landed awkwardly, and broke my wrist. I bet they thought they weren’t being reckless. Not that they stopped for me to ask. I doubt very much that they MEANT to hurt me. But by breaking the law they broke me.
Of course, look after yourself, your child, but acts like riding on the pavement is not safe for everyone else.

Sweetie, I’m 35 years old and not a dopey teenager and actually was brought up with some common sense so wouldn’t run down a pedestrian. However, when I was a kid, no one had a problem with people on their bikes on the pavement.
It is perfectly ok to not use the cycle lanes or the roads because no one wants to get killed using either. My fella used to cycle to work every day and cycle back. He stopped doing so and sold his bike. Why you ask? Because he was fed up of being knocked off his bike when in a cycle lane.
Maybe car drivers need to realise that they do not own the roads. The roads are there for ALL to use so just learn to share.

Fugazi3973ParticipantShop lifting is down – do you honestly think thieves can afford to park in Wrexham nowadays!!
Fugazi3973ParticipantI did say there were still some nice stalls, and I would include the Father Christmas, but it’s fallen into the trap of thinking that blasting out loud music on a funfare is the way to go. It isn’t. It’s changed, and not for the better. Less stalls selling home made products and more “funfare” and stalls selling dodgy toys from China. I used to love the evening, now I dread it. The Humbug is for the people who took the Christmas away from the Christmas Parade.
Fugazi3973ParticipantTo be honest, the Wrexham event sounds really nice. I don’t understand the need for fireworks and the like, this sounds much more traditional and “Christmassy”
The Rhos event on the other hand has become less and less festive as years go by, and whereas there are still some nice stalls selling home made goods, it’s mainly an excuse to sell cheap toys and rides for not so cheap prices.
Wish I could say I would avoid it but chances are someone will have set up a stall right outside my house again (so I literally can’t even leave through my front door) and others will be using my garden as a short cut.

“The prestigious ‘Wrexham Champion Sausage Competition’ will take place during tomorrow morning. The competition has become a firm favorite in the town’s calendar since 2008 and sees butchers from across the borough competing for the title of Wrexham’s champion sausage-maker! The results of the competition will be announced at around 1.30pm.”
So that would be March 2nd this year, a date renowned in the world of sausages! :)
There were stalls up in Queens Square selling some lovely local products, and a cooking presentation.
Strangely enough though – there were no sausages on sale!!
