How many people on this forum are ordinary members of the Wrexham public, because I get the feeling I am in the minority…:D:confused:

I’m getting a mental image of a H.M. Bateman cartoon with the caption “The man who admitted to being an ordinary member of the Wrexham public”

Why pay £3 a day or whatever it is that normal people have to pay?:p

Sounds like an act of desperation to me. Most Government Reports on Markets would seek a coherent strategy. Whilst I see scope for an Arts type of emphasis somewhere within the Market environment, the current People’s Market would not make a sensible destination point. Mismatching of product lines is not the remedy for the problems that this Market has. Lower Rents and complementary products refracted through the prism of the perceived Customer base is essential

I believe I’ll refract my prism. Isn’t that an old Robert Johnson song?

Just had the tip that the announcement that Coleg Cambria are to take over part of the Groves site within two months–Watch this space for updates..

Is that the same space that earlier yesterday was telling us that the new Waterworld might be built on the Groves site then appearing to concur with the option that MP1953 had heard the other day about the 2 schools moving to the same site. What with Zinger’s supermarket ‘n all it’s going to get a bit busy around there by the sound of it.

Now I’m as keen on some righteous indignation against the powers that be as the next chap but can someone please clarify exactly what I’m supposed to be getting angry about?

Maybe all the bad drivers are just cyclists when they’re in their cars.

I’ve read Wrexham’s point several times Benjamin. It seems crystal clear. The owner of the metaphorical garage employs 3 mechanics and then proceeds to fix the car himself. He then charges the customer for his labour and that of the mechanics as well. Ultimately this is what is happening because each time that the tax payer pays a Councillor AND a Council employee to perform the same tasks it all mounts up

But if he employs the mechanics and the mechanics do the work doesn’t he charge for their labour and something for himself as well? Otherwise how does he make a living?

We probably need the workers for the skills / capacity AND the councillors for the democracy bit. At the top you could question whether you need working Councillors AND directors. Apart from that, regarding the employees doesn’t it boil down to “how many”; and regarding cllrs isn’t the question “how much”. To which the answers are usually – “a lot fewer” and “a lot less”!

Yes the closure threat has come a step closure despite the group who are trying to set up a Trust have put forward proposals that show they can save over £400k in a year. With these type of savings how can the Council be trusted to run ANY of our service. I wonder if the Council Members and Officers will actually speak with this group or will it be too embarrassing for them to find that others outside of the Council can create a Financial Modeling that can achieve cost cutting whilst retaining services at a level unprecedented in Wrexham .

Good luck to them but if they achieve that I’ve got some loaves & fishes I’d like them to take a look at.

I’d like to ask why perfectly well police officers are allowed to retire (often on on “health” grounds on full pension at 50 and get a job with the same police force the next week. But he wouldn’t answer that would he?
